Korean reality star Oh Jin Taek has just visited the Philippines for a quick vacation last weekend and a fan meet event at an opulent hotel in Cebu.
Jin Taek recounted to Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph) in an exclusive video chat, “We did a Q&A and meet and greet with fans in Cebu. We took pictures as well.”
He commented, “It’s very good for me,” about meeting Filipinos during the fan meet night held last July 13, 2024, at the Axis Entertainment & Sports Bar on NUSTAR Resort and Casino.
Aside from public appearances related to Singles Inferno, the Netflix dating show that catapulted him to public recognition, the 32-year-old male celebrity has also been busy sustaining the success of the tailoring brand called Ascottage, the business he started at a young age.
And so, in need of a getaway, Jin Taek jumped at the chance to have a quick rest-and-relaxation this month in the Philippines' Queen City of the South—where he enjoyed a luxurious stay at the Fili Hotel NUSTAR Cebu, the first and only five-star Filipino hotel brand.

He stayed at the expansive Villa 2, which featured a private pool, a private office, a powder room, and a deck facing stunning sea views.
Jin Taek also tried the casino, which was “not common in South Korea.”
OH JIN TAEK ON DATING A FILIPINA
Asked about what he loved about the Philippines, he said it’s the food and the nice beaches.
On Filipina women, he said, “Maganda. They are always beautiful. They get better with age. Every year, they become more and more beautiful.”
Is he then open to dating a Filipina?
“If I meet someone,” he said good-humoredly.
OH JIN TAEK ON ON CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
The Korean entrepreneur opened to PEP about wanting to join Korean showbiz as an actor and, in fact, he's been taking acting lessons to meet this goal.
Jin Taek said, “It’s the first time I will be acting, and it’s very different because business, I have been doing for a while now.
"And Singles Inferno is a reality show so it’s not much acting. But acting is something that I need to learn first.”
Does he want to be in comedies, dramas or in action movies?
“I just wanna be in any role. Any role is good. I just want to be a good actor,” he answered.
How about acting in Philippine showbiz, like the South Korean actor Kim Ji Soo who is currently part of the cast of GMA Network’s Black Rider?

“Definitely I would like to act here in the Philippines, but there is a lot to learn first,” Jin Taek replied.
While Singles Inferno was a wonderful experience for Jin Taek, it was for him just one-and-done.
He doesn’t want to come back, even if he gets invited to an all-star season.
And while some of his castmates have found opportunities in other Netflix reality shows, he doesn’t want to go to the same path.
Kang So Yeon, for example, made it a bit far in the second season of Physical 100.
Physical 100 is a reality show that pits athletes against each other in several tests of strength and mental fortitude.
“It’s going to be very difficult to join there really is a lot more stronger people,” Jin Taek said.
Jin Taek dated So Yeon for a while after Singles Inferno ended.
