Kinumpirma ang malungkot na balita ng kapatid ni Barbie, ang talk show host na si Dee Hsu, sa pamamagitan ng kanyang agent.

Nakasaad sa statement na inilabas sa media ngayong Lunes, February 3: "Our whole family came to Japan for a trip, and my dearest and most kindhearted sister Barbie Hsu died of influenza-induced pneumonia and unfortunately left us."
Dagdag pa ni Dee, "I was grateful to be her sister in this life and that we got to care for and spend time with each other. I will always be grateful to her and miss her!"
METEOR GARDEN
Si Barbie ay sumikat nang husto dahil sa pagganap niya bilang Shan Cai sa phenomenal hit Taiwanese drama series na Meteor Garden noong 2001.
Nakasama niya rito ang tinaguriang F4 na sina Jerry Yan (Dao Ming Xi), Vic Zhou (Hua Ze Lei), Vanness Wu (Mei Zuo), at Ken Chu (Xi Men).
