Sa official statement na ipinadala ng pamilya ni Diane sa PEOPLE, kinumpirma nilang pneumonia ang dahilan ng biglaang pagkamatay ng aktres.
Kasabay nito ang pasasalamat nila sa lahat ng nagpaabot ng mensahe ng pagmamahal at suporta.
Nakasaad dito: "The Keaton family are very grateful for the extraordinary messages of love and support they have received these past few days on behalf of their beloved Diane, who passed away from pneumonia on October 11."
Dagdag pa ng pamilya ni Diane: "She loved her animals and she was steadfast in her support of the unhoused community, so any donations in her memory to a local food bank or an animal shelter would be a wonderful and much appreciated tribute to her."

UNEXPECTED DEATH
Isang source ng PEOPLE ang nagsabi noong October 11 na hindi nila inasahan ang pagpanaw ni Diane, "especially for someone with such strength and spirit."
Bigla na lang daw bumagsak ang kalusugan ng aktres.
Pinili naman daw gawing pribado ng mga malalapit kay Diane ang kalagayan nito, na kahit mga matagal nang kaibigan ng Oscar-winning actress ay hindi alam kung ano ang nangyayari.
Si Diane ay nanalong Best Actress sa Oscars para sa kanyang pagganap sa Annie Hall noong 1978.
