South Korean actor Lee Yi Kyung has been cleared of sexual misconduct allegations after allegedly lewd chat messages linked to him were found to be fabricated.

On Monday, October 20, 2025, an anonymous online post accused the Marry My Husband and Welcome to Waikiki star of inappropriate behavior, sharing screenshots of alleged chat conversations that showed Lee Yi Kyung making sexually suggestive remarks toward the alleged victim during their exchanges.

In one conversation, the actor allegedly mentioned sexual acts involving multiple men, repeatedly demanded sexual photos, and insulted the alleged victim when she refused to comply.

The alleged victim also claimed that the actor persistently asked her to send nude or explicit images despite her clear refusals.

The claims quickly went viral, sparking outrage and speculation among netizens.

However, Lee Yi Kyung’s agency, Sangyoung ENT, immediately released a statement denying the accusations and announced that they would pursue legal action against individuals spreading false and malicious information about the actor.

The alleged victim, who claimed to be a German national, explained that the images previously shared on another blog platform were originally uploaded “for fun,” and that she didn’t expect them to draw so much attention.

According to an English translation by Allkpop, the post stated: “Recently, I uploaded various photos related to actor Lee Yi Kyung.”

"I started writing those posts as a joke, and I didn’t expect them to gain so much attention.

"As I continued posting and using AI-generated images, I began to believe in the story myself.”

She also apologized to the public for spreading false information about Lee Yi Kyung.

“I’m truly sorry for spreading malicious rumors about actor Lee Yi Kyung.

"It started with me simply admiring him, but over time I found myself getting emotionally involved,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, Lee Yi Kyung has not yet commented on the controversy.
