Justin Timberlake's 2024 DWI (driving while intoxicated) arrest footage, taken by a police bodycam, has come out despite efforts from the singer's camp to keep it private.

In the video, Justin is seen speaking with officers after being pulled over in Sag Harbor, an affluent waterfront village on New York’s Long Island, on June 18, 2024.

“I’m just following my friends back to my house,” says Justin, who was driving a rented BMW car at the time of the incident.

“I’m on tour… a world tour,” replies Justin when further asked why he was in the location.

He adds, “It’s hard to explain… I’m Justin Timberlake.”

Justin was said to have come from the American Hotel for dinner before getting behind the wheel.

He was trailing friends, including designer Estee Stanley and her husband, Bryan Furst, who soon approached officers at the scene.

POLICE OFFICERS: "HE'S COMING WITH US."

Following standard protocol, the apprehending officer asked for Justin's license and registration, and then requested that he step out of the vehicle.

A series of field sobriety tests noticeably made Justin uncomfortable, telling the officer, "These are, like, hard tests," and that his "heart's racing."

Estee, who was watching the exchange, questioned the officers and even offered to drive the car instead.

Her suggestion was turned down, with the officers saying they needed to be certain whether Justin was fit to drive that night.

Moments later, the situation escalates: Justin is placed in handcuffs as an officer tells Estee, “At this point, he’s coming with us.”

One of the officers informed Estee that Justin had failed the sobriety tests and would be taken to the Sag Harbor Police Department until he could appear before a judge.

A stunned Estee appeals to the officers and even name-drops Justin's hit songs like “Bye Bye Bye” from his former boy band NSYNC and “SexyBack” in a last-ditch effort to spare her friend from police custody.

AWKWARD MOMENTS WHILE IN CUSTODY

At the police headquarters, Justin was apparently trying to lighten the situation by cracking jokes and engaging officers in conversation.

While filling out a document, Justin joked when asked about his race.

"White? I’m just kidding. I’m just kidding, man,” laughed Justin.

He was obviously not pleased when told that he would be staying in a cell until the following day.

Justin blurted to the officers, “Yo, you guys are wild, man.”

He also voiced out his frustration by telling the police, “You boys [are] treating me like I’m a criminal."

Justin refused to undergo a post-arrest chemical test, musing, "I had one martini, and I followed my f***ing friends home, and I appreciate you boys for doing your job.”

JUSTIN'S TEAM WANTS TO KEEP THE VIDEO PRIVATE

Justin and his team have attempted to block the footage from being released entirely.

A petition was filed in Suffolk County Supreme Court, reasoning that making the video public would damage Justin's reputation and career.

It would also make Justin vulnerable to public backlash, the petition mentioned.

A legal agreement was reached on March 20, 2026, allowing a redacted version of the footage to be released.

According to court filings, the edit was designed to avoid what was described as an “unwarranted invasion of personal privacy.”

Meanwhile, Justin's wife, Jessica Biel, was said to be "disappointed" with the video's release, according to an article published today, March 23, 2026, by People.

Justin's unflattering moments, as captured in the video, along with the renewed attention on the incident, make Jessica feel uneasy.

“There have been some challenging moments lately, and she’s focused on moving forward,” a source close to the couple said.

JUSTIN EVADES HAVING A CRIMINAL RECORD

As for the case itself, Justin was charged with driving while intoxicated.

He was also cited for running a stop sign and failing to stay in his lane.

Justin's lawyer, Edward Burke Jr., initially contested the charges, insisting his client was not intoxicated at the time of the incident.

In September 2024, however, Justin's legal team changed their tone, with the singer accepting a plea deal to a lesser charge of driving while ability impaired.

The plea bargain reduced the charge from a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated (DWI) to a non-criminal traffic violation.

Justin was slapped with a $500 fine and community service, but avoided having a criminal record as a result of the plea bargain.
