As Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters with great anticipation at the end of July, a cinema in Canada finds itself without a promotional poster to display due to a shipping error.
While waiting for the poster to arrive, employees at Famous Players Six in Prince George, British Columbia, come up with an idea to temporarily fix the problem.
The cinema manager asks staff member Drake Landon, who has a knack for illustration, to sketch a poster.
However, the image the manager had in mind wasn’t exactly a flattering depiction of the famous superhero, but rather the internet meme known as Spooderman.

Spooderman is a crudely drawn MS Paint parody of Marvel’s Spider-Man that first appeared online around 2012.
SPOODERMAN GOES VIRAL
Drake tells CBC News that he's capable of drawing "actual Spider-Man" but opts not to argue with his manager's suggestion.
The hand-drawn poster contains a note from Drake: “Sorry we never received the real posters! Sorry for any inconvenience!”
Drake’s improvised poster catches the attention of moviegoers and cinema visitors, with photos of his drawing going viral online.
"I'm happy that I'm recognized for it, but like it's a simple drawing based off of a meme that's already a drawing," said Drake.
"I'd say credit mostly goes to the idea of Spooderman, whoever drew it originally years ago."
The poster has since been taken down and replaced with the official Spider-Man: Brand New Day poster.
However, after receiving an unexpected amount of attention online, management plans to display Drake’s creation somewhere inside the cinema.
