Model-turned-actor Gil Cuerva was officially announced as Jennylyn Mercado's new leading man in GMA-7's remake of My Love From The Star.
To prepare for his role as Matteo Do, the 21-year-old Fil-Spanish model went through a series of workshops facilitated by the show's director, Joyce Bernal.
Gil also finished watching the original Korean drama series.
Last night, December 11, Gil along with Direk Joyce and Jennylyn, met up with ABS-CBN actor Piolo Pascual.
Based on his post, it looks like Gil learned a lot from the award-winning Kapamilya star.
The newbie actor posted his photo with Piolo on Instagram and wrote, "Had a great time talking with Direk Joyce, PJ, Jen and everyone else last night."

The lead stars of the upcoming Kapuso series already started taping earlier today, December 12.
Celebrity hairstylist Mark Baquiran shared behind-the-scene photos of Jennylyn on the set of My Love From The Star.
The scenes were shot at a salon in Festival Mall, Alabang. Some fans also shared a few BTS photos of the stars while taping for the teleserye.
