Elizabeth Yu Gokongwei, the widow of John L. Gokongwei Jr., has passed away.
The family issued a statement appealing for their mother's privacy: "Our mother, Elizabeth Yu Gokongwei, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 16, 2019, one week after the death of our father, John Gokongwei, Jr., her husband of 61 years.
"She was 85 years old.
"Our mother was a very private person. We would like to honor her privacy at this time.
"Private wake details will be shared with friends and family. Robina, Lance, Lisa, Faith, Hope, and Marcia."
Gokongwei Jr. passed away on November 9. He was 93.
