ABS-CBN actress Ryza Cenon has just revealed she is five months pregnant.
The news made showbiz headlines almost immediately after she announced it ln social media and in an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal).
But, get this, this is not the first time Ryza has caused a sensation because of her "pregnancy."
Well, okay, it happened in GMA-7's afternoon teleserye Ika-6 Na Utos,.
In this TV series, Ryza played Georgia, the mistress of Rome (Gabby Concepcion), who was always in a fight with Rome’s legal wife, Emma (Sunshine Dizon).
The catfight between the mistress and the wife that aired on May 19, 2017, when Georgia angrily pointed a nerf gun at Emma, instantly went viral online.
Ika-6 Na Utos was Ryza’s biggest break on television, and gave the actress her first major role.
In the nerve-wracking scene, Georgia and Emma—by chance both pregnant and shopping for baby stuff in of all places the same store—come down hard on each other over a model of stroller they both want to buy.
A pillow-stuffed toy fight ensues, with Emma accusing Georgia of stealing everything from her—her husband Rome and now the stroller.
Georgia then grabs a nerf gun from the shelves and threatens Emma with it.
The nerf gun scene continues to stream on YouTube and so far has garnered 8.1 million views at press time.
The scene also spawned several memes and jokes online, which led to higher ratings for the show during its airing.
Even Sharon Cuneta, the ex-wife of Gabby, posted a meme!
Back then, Sharon and Gabby were being seen together in a television commercial for a fast-food chain.
After the nerf gun scene, Ika-6 Na Utos became popular for its use of unusual weapons, such as balut, cupcakes, and even fake lobsters and crabs, in confrontation scenes..
In an interview with PEP.ph, Ryza said that she considers the nerf gun scene as one of her favorites when she was doing the teleserye.
She explained, “Iyong nerf gun, sobrang nakakatuwa lang kasi kailangan naming hindi masaktan dahil buntis kami pareho that time.
“Pero kailangan naming mag-fight scene, kaya nerf gun [iyong ginamit] para hindi masakit kahit mag-fight scene kami.”
Three years later, Ika-6 Na Utos is being aired again on GMA-7’s Afternoon Prime block as the Kapuso programs go on a taping break because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
