After six years, Rocco Nacino is working again with his former girlfriend and love-team partner Lovi Poe.
Rocco is the newest cast member of GMA Public Affairs’ prime-time romantic-comedy series Owe My Love.
Making his debut in the series today, April 5, 2021, the StarStruck alumnus will be playing the third wheel to Lovi and her leading man, Benjamin Alves.
Rocco plays the role of Dr. Kenneth Paul, a cardiothoracic surgeon and a former orgmate of Sensen (Lovi) in school.
Kenneth’s entry will threaten Sensen’s budding romance with Dr. Migs Alcancia (Benjamin), who recently decided to withhold his feelings for Sensen.
LOVI AND ROCCO’S PAST
Owe My Love is Lovi and Rocco’s first project together after breaking up in 2016.
The last time Rocco was asked about working again with Lovi was in November 2019.
He then said, “Not for now. Maybe in time siguro, but definitely not now.”
In another press conference on February 29, 2020, Lovi was asked about her reaction to Rocco’s statement.
Lovi simply said, “Ako, I’m okay to work with him. But if he says that he’s not okay to work with me, it’s okay. It’s not really a problem. We get to work with different actors.”
Prior to Owe My Love, Lovi and Rocco’s last project was the 2015 prime-time series Beautiful Strangers. Benjamin was also part of the series.
In Beautiful Strangers, Lovi was first involved with Rocco, but she ended up with Benjamin’s character.
Rocco, on the other hand, was paired with Heart Evangelista.
At that time, Lovi and Rocco were still together.
The two admitted their relationship in 2014.
Before becoming a couple, Lovi and Rocco had worked as a love team in four TV projects: Mistaken Identity (2011), Yesterday’s Bride (2012), Titser (2013), and Akin Pa Rin Ang Bukas (2013).
Rocco is now married to volleyball player Melissa Gohing, while Lovi is in a relationship with Hollywooed executive producer Monty Blencowe.
