Ehrlich Ocampo makes it to the next round of America’s Got Talent.
The Pinoy circus performer received four "yes" votes from judges Sofia Vergara, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell for his leviwand act.
According to leviwand.com, leviwand is “an object manipulation discipline where the practitioner controls a seemingly floating stick.”
Not only did Ehrlich receive yes votes from the judges, but he also got a standing ovation from them.
Howie told Ehrlich, “You’re amazing, buddy. That is an art form that I don’t think we’ve seen. I’ve been here for a long time. That was beautiful. Thank you for being here.”
Similarly, Simon said it was unique.
He said, “We haven’t seen anything like this before. I think the fact that you’ve got the guts to do what you’ve done means in life, you’re gonna do amazing. All the hours that went into this paid off. Fantastic. Well done.”
Sofia enjoyed watching Ehrlich’s act.
She told him, “Beautiful. It was flawless. That was a very special show and it was different than anything I’ve seen.”
Heidi, for her part, was mesmerized. She said, “You are mesmerizing to watch because we kind of wonder how you do it. And you move so beautifully and elegant. You were incredible. I loved it. It’s very unique.”
Ehrlich thanked Heidi, saying that he is a fan of German-American TV host-model: “Thank you Heidi. That means a lot. I’m your fan!”
Heidi replied, “I’m yours now.”
Before his performance, Ehrlich told the judges that he arrived in the United States nine days before his audition.
He said, “I gave up everything to pursue my performing. People thought I was crazy. I didn’t think I’ll make it here.
“But my friends and family, they supported me and they inspired me to fight. I am here fighting for myself, my family, my friends, my community, my country.”
Filipinos were first able to watch Ehrlich do his leviwand act on ABS-CBN’s weekly talent show, I Can Do That, where he trained and performed with Daniel Matsunaga and Arci Muñoz.
