TV show contestants mentioning rival programs or segments often happen in live shows.
The latest blooper was on Saturday, July 24, in a live episode of Eat Bulaga!’s “Bawal Judgmental” segment.
The Q&A portion of the segment featured celebrities who were participants in previous contests of the noontime show.
In one part of “Bawal Judgmental,” Maine Mendoza, one of the hosts, asked a female contestant—via virtual screen—what contest did Joel Palencia join in Eat Bulaga!
The contestant groping for the right answer first stalled, “Sa… ano po…”
And thinking she got it, she blurted out, “Sa BidaMan po.”
Maine, though dumbstruck, was amused.
Host Paolo Ballesteros spoke up, “Taray, sa Showtime iyon.”
Jose Manalo added, “Oo, iba iyon. Baka iba iyong napanood mo.”
BidaMan, now defunct, was an all-male contest in It’s Showtime in 2019.
Joel, on the other hand, is a product of Eat Bulaga’s 2015 all-male contest, “That’s My Bae.”
Meanwhile, on the same day it happened, a video clip of the blunder was quickly uploaded by a netizen on Tik Tok.
Norkinly Taganna’s TikTok upload of the clip currently has 84.7K likes.

Joel himself reposted the video in his own TikTok account. He wrote in the caption, “NAG SORRY NAMAN SI ATE HAHA HAYAAN NYO NA IM YOUR BIDAMAN!”
He also uploaded a TikTok dance cover with Miggy Tolentino, his co-finalist in “That’s My Bae.”
Joel was seen missing the steps. He quipped in the caption, “Nakalimutan ko kaya tayo nasasabihan ng BIDAMAN haha.”

Yesterday, July 25, Joel uploaded another TikTok video, this time with a real “BidaMan” finalist: Jervy delos Reyes.
He uploaded a duet clip with his previous TikTok post of the “Bawal Judgmental” clip and pointed at Jervy when the home audience member mentioned “BidaMan.”
This post of Joel has 12.8K likes on TikTok.

That was not the first time a contestant in Eat Bulaga! slipped up the name of its rival show in ABS-CBN.
Slips of the tongue are common occurences in nerve-wracking live shows. They often happen, too, in It’s Showtime and even in Wowowin.
