Hindi natuloy noong December 16, 2021 ang coronation night ng 70th Miss World sa Puerto Rico Coliseum Jose Miguel Agrelot sa San Juan, Puerto Rico dahil sa mga kandidata at production staff na nag-positibo sa COVID-19.
Ang kaligtasan, kalusugan, at kapakanan ng lahat ang dahilan kaya nagpasya ang Miss World Organization na ipagpaliban ang final show ng international beauty pageant na pinakamatanda sa buong mundo.
Sa March 16, 2022 itinakda ang bagong petsa ng coronation night.
Nakasaad sa opisyal na pahayag na inilabas ngayon, December 22, ng Miss World Organization na magaganap pa rin sa San Juan, Puerto Rico ang coronation night ng 70th Miss World.
"The Miss World Organization is pleased to announce March 16, 2022, as the rescheduled date for the Miss World 2021 global telecast and its 70th anniversary finale live from the Puerto Rico Coliseum Jose Miguel Agrelot!
"We are so excited that we are staying in Puerto Rico to crown the new Miss World!” ang sabi ni Julia Morley, ang presidente ng Miss World LTD.
Dagdag niya, "We have been overwhelmed by the support of the people here! The countdown and final planning has begun.
"Our team is thrilled that we will show all the wonders that Puerto Rico has to offer as a premier tourism destination to the entire world. We love Puerto Rico."
Siyamnapu’t- pito (97) ang mga opisyal na kandidata ng 70th Miss World at nagsisipagbalikan na sila sa kani-kanilang mga bansa buhat nang ipagpaliban ang coronation night noong December 16.
MISS INDIA ORGANIZA'S STATEMENT
Kabilang si Miss World India Maranasa Varanasi sa mga kandidata na nag-positibo sa COVID-19 kaya nanatili siya sa Puerto Rico para sa mandatory quarantine. Pero ibinalita niya ngayong Miyerkules, December 22, na tapos na ang kanyang isolation.
Ang Miss India Organization ang nagpadala kay Maranasa sa 70th Miss World at ipinarating nila ang pasasalamat kay Morely dahil sa desisyon nito na ipagpaliban sa 2022 ang final show.
Inamin ng organisasyon na isa ang kanilang kandidata sa mga nagpositobo sa COVID-19.
"Our queen, Manasa Varanasi is one of the contestants who has been tested COVID positive and is currently in isolation in Puerto Rico.
"We, at the Miss India Organization, were in great disbelief that she might not be able to grace the world stage inspite of her immense hard work and dedication.
"However, her safety is of utmost priority to us. We thank Mrs. Julia Morley for prioritizing the health of not only the countries infected but also the team and other contestants above the pageant. We pray for their health and wish a speedy recovery for all those infected.
"We can’t wait to welcome Manasa back home, nurture her back to health and send her back stronger, healthier and happier."
Napakahalaga sa Miss India Organization ang partisipasyon ni Manasa sa 70th Miss World dahil umaasa sila na mauulit ang nangyari noong 1994 at 2000, ang mga taon na ang mga kinatawan ng India ang nag-uwi ng korona ng Miss Universe at ng Miss World.
Si Harnaaz Sandhu ng India ang kinoronahan na 70th Miss Universe noong December 13, 2021.
Kung manalo sa 70th Miss World si Manasa, muling masusundan ang double victories nina Miss Universe 1994 Sushmita Sen, Miss World 1994 Aishwarya Rai, Miss Universe 2000 Lara Dutta at Miss World 2000 Priyanka Chopra.
MISS PHILIPPINES remains optimistic despite hurdles
Maging ang pambato ng Pilipinas na si Tracy Maureen Perez ay excited na bumalik sa Puerto Rico para sa coronation night.
Si Tracy ay isa sa mga kandidatang nanguna sa Top 5 Beauty with a Purpose Challenge at pati na rin sa Head to Head Challenge ng pageant.
Noong December 19, nagbahagi si Tracy ng saloobin tungkol sa postponed coronation night ng pageant.
Mahihinuhang tila nagkasakit din siya bago ang pageant.
Post ni Tracy sa Instagram: "Still blessed, still grateful.
"It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions for the whole month most especially the past few days while I did my best to keep myself together and give my 100% every single day as I fight for our country, I’m now on my way to full recovery - physically, mentally, and emotionally.
"I will never forget the lessons I learned, the friends I made, the people who helped me, and the memories that I will treasure forever.
"I cannot wait to be back in Puerto Rico, to once again spend time with the Filipino community who gave their all in supporting me, to see my sisters again whom I shared an unbreakable bond with, and lastly to continue our fight for our beloved country and for those who are struggling, most especially the single mothers."
