Nakabalik na sa Amerika si G Tongi mula sa kanyang maiksing bakasyon sa Pilipinas nitong buwan ng Pebrero.
Pero hindi pinalampas ng actress-TV host na hindi makipagkita sa kanyang matalik na kaibigang si Joey Mead.
Mula pa sa kanilang kabataan at career sa showbiz, halos pareho ang landas na tinahak nina G at Joey.
Parehong narating ng dalawa ang rurok ng kasikatan pagdating sa hosting dahil magkasabay silang sumikat bilang disc jockey sa magkaibang international channels: si G sa MTV Asia at si Joey sa Channel V.
Mensahe ni G: “An evolution of friendship in photographs over the course of our lives….
“As girls in our early careers, both navigating the Manila modeling and television scene.
“She and I first met doing a television show called Music Bureau in our mid teens.
“Our paths were somewhat parallel, when we became Video Jocks for the leading Music Channels in the nineties, her Channel V and Mine at MTV ASIA.
“Even doing local stints for ASAP, campaigns for Levi’s, magazine covers for People Asia and so much more…
“We’ve shared many nights on the dance floor in the late nineties, painting the town red with our vivacious personalities.”
Hanggang sa sila ay nagkaedad at nagkaasawa, hindi naputol ang ugnayan ng dalawa.
Dagdag pa ni G, “We have been fortunate to have travelled the world to many destinations, to her beloved Singapore, to Boracay when she was my Maid of Honor as I got married and then eventually Los Angeles, where she witnessed my becoming a mother for the first time, accepting the role of Ninang to my eldest.
“Truth be told, our sisterhood has gone through several of our own ups and downs, and yet our ‘herstory’ finds us rekindling not only what was but creating a present where it’s evident that we have matured in our forties, with our own triumphs we’ve accomplished as women carving our place in the world.”
