During the VIP night of Century Tuna Superbods 2022 on Friday, June 3, 2022, Alden seems at a loss for words talking to the press about his first red-carpet premiere abroad.

His fellow Superbods ambassador Bea Alonzo, who is also present during the interview, quips, "Next love team niya raw si Millie na!"

Millie Bobby Brown plays the lead character of the series named Eleven.

Gaining back his bearings, Alden reveals seeing all the actors of his favorite Netflix show in person left him starstruck.

He recalls, "Grabe, sobrang wild nung experience na yun, pero… I mean, I got to take photos with the stars."

The Sparkle talent later adds, "To be representing our country there and having to share the same red-carpet with the stars of the series na talagang sinusundan, one for the books yun.

"Hindi ko na yun makakalimutan hanggang mawala ako sa mundong ito."

ALDEN RICHARDS: STRANGER THINGS FAN

Alden further reveals he has been a fan of Stranger Things since its first season premiered in 2016 and for which that he ended up signing up on Netflix.

NOOD KA MUNA!

He says, "Kasi, yung Stranger Things yung unang pinanood ko kaya ako naging member ng Netflix.

"So yun yung pinaka-unang series and who would know na from Season 1, 2, and 3 na pinanood ko, mai-invite ako sa premiere ng Season 4.

"Parang sabi ko, ‘Ganito pala yun! Ang sarap naman!’"

GOING GLOBAL

Having observed the success of Netflix shows, Alden and Bea are both hopeful that Filipino content will also be recognized worldwide.

Bea believes that streaming apps have opened global opportunities for the local entertainment industry.

She cites the success of the award-winning South Korean series Squid Games, which is now the most-streamed series on Netflix.

Bea says, "Ngayon, slowly, I think yung industry natin, pareng meron nang blurred lines between local and global.

"Parang feeling ko now is actually a good time to celebrate it na ngayon parang mas madali na sigurong maka-penetrate.

"Hindi naman madali, but there’s a huge possibility that you can somehow penetrate through streaming services like Netflix or HBO or Prime.

"Ako, feeling ko hindi siya madali, but somehow there’s a possibility.

"Unlike before na parang suntok sa buwan e. Ngayon, parang somehow, with Squid Game, they’ve won what? How many awards?

"So parang if the Koreans can do it, somehow I have high hopes that we can do it, too."
