The second batch of trainees for TV5, Cornerstone Entertainment, and Kumu’s reality P-Pop competition, Top Class, has been revealed.
Just like in the first batch, most of the finalists are already aspiring P-Pop artists and performers before joining the show.
Kenzo Bautista is dubbed as the Gentle Striker of Bulacan. Before Top Class, he tried to penetrate showbiz through Pinoy Big Brother and Goin’ Bulilit. Gifted with a beautiful singing voice, he comes from a family of music lovers.
Suave Skaterboy of Kuwait Joshuel Fajardo already had experience doing P-Pop. He used to be a part of K-Pop cover group Amigo7, with Ken of SB19 as one of his groupmates. He also debuted in Korea in 2018 for the group Z-Boys, where he is the main dancer.
Ventriloquist Denver Dalman, the Dynamic Dude of Cebu, first joined Bida Star Singer, a Kumu contest of ABS-CBN’s Star Hunt. An achiever in school, he is a software engineer and has started his own start-up company. His musical influences include Top Class singing mentor KZ Tandingan.
Francis Lim, the Chinito Charmer of Caloocan, is not new to TV singing competitions. In fact, he joined the second season of The Voice Kids, where he was part of Team Sarah. However, his stint ended during the sing-offs. With Top Class, Francis wants to get out of his comfort zone and improve in his waterloo: dancing.
Seb Herrera is a singing BPO employee and uses YouTube as a platform to release his original songs. Dubbed as the All-Stakes Achiever of Laguna, Seb decided to quit the stability of a regular job to join Top Class and pursue his dream. He idolizes Jungkook of BTS.
Gilly Guzman is a freelance TV dancer who had performed in GMA-7 shows All-Out Sundays and Eat Bulaga! before he joined Top Class. He also auditioned for the P-Pop group Alamat, but did not make the cut. He is part of the Power Impact Dancers, the reason why he is dubbed the Dancefloor Champ of Quezon City.
Top Class has started releasing the names of its 30 trainees since June 6, 2022. It will soon start training the next generation of P-Pop icons.
The trainees will be guided by KZ Tandingan as vocal mentor, Shanti Dope as rap mentor, and Brian Puspos as dance mentor.
The TV5 show will be hosted by Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray together with Albie Casiño as her co-host for TV and Yukii Takahashi for the show’s digital counterpart.
The Top Class campus is scheduled to open on June 18, 2022 at 5 p.m. with daily shows on Kumu.
