Despite the rise of the digital age, television continues to be people's main source for information and entertainment.
Today, more than ever, various TV programs pose a significant influence on modern culture and become tools for sharing information, ideas, and other content.
This is why the Philippine Movie Press Club, Inc. (PMPC) has always been a staunch supporter of the men and women behind these TV programs.
To honor them for a job well done, the PMPC is staging the 35th Star Awards for Television is set to happen on January 28, 2023, at 6 p.m., at Winford Manila Resort and Casino.
TV host-turned-politician Senator Raffy Tulfo and former actress Connie Angeles lead this year’s honorees as recipients of the Excellence in Broadcasting Lifetime Achievement Award and the Ading Fernando Lifetime Achievement Award, respectively.
Now a veteran broadcast journalist, commentator and multi-media personality, Tulfo started his career in 1993. His public service programs on radio, television, and YouTube were aired until he won as senator of the Philippines in the 2022 national election.
Meanwhile, Angeles started as a child actress and metamorphosed into a public service host and eventually a public servant in the 1990s. Currently, she is the senior assistant vice president and executive director for Health for SM Foundation, Inc.
Adding glitter to the awards night are two of showbiz’s hottest tandems—Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, and Kelvin Miranda and Mikee Quintos—who are receiving the German Moreno Power Tandem of the Year award.
The 35th Star Awards edition is led by the newly elected PMPC President Fernan de Guzman and his team.
On hand to support the PMPC for this exciting awards night is JAMSAP Entertainment Corporation led by Jojo Flores and Maricar Moina. Frank Lloyd Mamaril is directing the show.
