Hands off si Cassy Legaspi nang usisain kung ano ang reaksiyon ni Darren Espanto na katrabaho niya si JK Labajo sa musical film na sa Ako Si Ninoy.
Magkasabayan sina Darren at JK sa The Voice Kids, pero nagkaroon sila ng alitan na umabot sa legal battle noong 2018.
Tumahimik na lang ang isyu at hindi nabalita kung natuldukan na ba ang gusot sa pagitan ng dalawa.
"Hindi ko alam, deadma lang ako. That I don't know," sabi ni Cassy nang tanungin ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal).
"Kami ni JK, we're friends ever since before pa kaya I already know him."
Wala raw siya sa posisyon para pumagitna sa dalawa.
"Maging daan? Ha? Hindi ko nga alam ang issue na yan," waring naguluhang sabi ni Cassy.
"Saka siguro huwag na lang kasi I'm not part of that. Siguro no na, kasi I feel lang it should come from his end if he wants to open up."
Nakanapanayam ng PEP.ph si Cassy sa media conference ng Vince Tanada's Ako Si Ninoy, na ginanap sa PSF Blackbox Theater, noong January 22, 2023.
CASSY ON DARREN GIVING HER SINGING TIPS
Kahit magkaiba ng TV network, hindi ito hadlang kina Cassy at Darren pagdating sa suporta nila sa career ng isa't isa.
Si Darren pa raw ang nagsabi kay Cassy na huwag mag-atubiling humingi ng tips sa first musical film ng dalaga.
"Because Darren is also in a musical sa kabila, when he heard it was a musical, nagulat din siya na, 'Really, you accepted the role?'
"Pero nagulat lang siya because he knows na super mahiyain ako in terms of singing... I'm super shy and we're super close.
"Sabi niya, 'If you need help, you can always ask me.' Kasi siyempre, yung ano [project] niya is a musical also."
Pagkatapos ng Ako Si Ninoy ay gusto raw sumabak uli ni Cassy sa musical.
"What I did was I really practice. I did the recording. I do ask for help. It was a fun experience," nakangiting sabi pa ng Kapuso actress.
A LOT OF FIRSTS FOR CASSY
Proud si Cassy Legaspi na mapabilang sa musical film na Ako Si Ninoy.
"Ang daming first—first movie, first musical. Of course, medyo pressured ako or medyo takot ako sa mga response ng tao.
"Pero at the same time, I am very, very proud of what we did here and of what I did here.
"I'm excited, I'm excited din to see this film. I hope everyone likes it."
Aminado si Cassy na sensitibo ang tema ng pelikula tungkol sa buhay ng pumanaw na senador na si Ninoy Aquino, na siyang ginagampanan ni JK.
Si Ninoy ang pinaslang na asawa ni dating Pangulong Cory Aquino, at ama ni dating Pangulong Noynoy Aquino at ng TV host-actress na si Kris Aquino.
"At first, ang alam ko lang movie. Tapos binanggit nila na, 'Actually, musical ito.' Sabi nila, 'We think you should try it. It's something new.'
"At first, natakot talaga ako, but I really, really love my role here.
"Sabi ko, 'You know what, I think this is the right time for me to try new things.'"
Kuwento pa ni Cassy, "At first, sabi ko, 'It's just a student.' I don't wanna stick to the same role, pero may twist pala yung character ko.
"Bawal kong sabihin kung ano yung magiging twist, pero this advocacy I truly care about.
"Actually mabigat siya, it's a sensitive topic, but I'm happy to say, I think and I hope I that I portrayed the role right as a victim."
ON HOW PEOPLE WOULD RECEIVE THE FILM
Handa naman daw si Cassy sa kung anuman ang reaksiyon ng mga manonood sa Ako Si Ninoy.
"I just really think about the purpose of the film, which is and not just to change anyone's politcal views, but to listen. 'Okay, ganito pala si Ninoy, this is who and what he represents.'
"Again, I feel like each and everyone of us here has a different purpose. Ako, ang purpose ko is to fight for that problem that Ingrid went through.
"For me, I just focus on that, purely that, and if I get bashed then so be it, what can I do?"
