Humingi ng paumanhin ang content creator na si Slater Young sa mga nadismaya sa pahayag niyang "normal" lang para sa mga lalaki na magpantasya sa ibang babae kahit na sila ay nasa isang relasyon.
Nitong Linggo, May 14, 2023, kumalap ng samu't saring reaksiyon mula sa netizens ang naging pahayag ni Slater sa isang segment ng podcast nila ng asawang si Kryz Uy.
Sa naturang podcast, nagbigay ng reaksiyon at payo ang mag-asawa sa isang letter sender na nagsumbong na may pinapantasyang ibang babae ang kanyang nobyo.
Sumbong ng anonymous letter sender: "My boyfriend is fantasizing about other women, is that bad, or am I crazy?
“He now labels me as isip-bata or crazy.
"We have debated every now and then about his infidelity.
"I never caught him in person or being physical with a girl.
"But I caught some chats with his tropa where they fantasize about women with big butts and breasts, and even joking about f***ing with certain girls."
Agad namang nagbigay ng reaksiyon ang mag-asawa. Ayon kay Slater, naging totoo lamang ang nobyo ng anonymous letter sender.
Saad ng dating Pinoy Big Brother housemate, "The guy is being absolutely honest.
“Kasi siyempre, if I’m going to lie to you, and you ask me if I have boners about other women and if I wanted to lie just to make you comfortable, I’m just gonna say, ‘No, of course not.’
"Kryz and I talk about that. It’s normal.
"It’s just a fact of life that there are many other women more attractive than you or just as attractive than you.”
Normal lang din daw sa mga lalaki na pag-usapan ang ibang babae.
Paliwanag ni Slater, “Yung mga groups na nagse-send ng mga photos of girls and like fantasizing over it, it’s normal.
"We have a lot of chat groups with friends, not necessarily dedicated to that.
"From time to time, usually comes from dalawa or tatlong tao na mahilig mag-send ng ganyan.
"May mga comment-comment pa. Siyempre ikaw, as part of that group and as a guy, sakyan mo lang."

SLATER YOUNG ISSUES PUBLIC APOLOGY
Matapos siyang batikusin ng netizens, naglabas ng panibagong podcast si Slater nitong Lunes, May 15, 2023, para humingi ng paumanhin sa lahat ng naapektuhan at na-offend sa kanyang mga sinabi.
Sabi ng dating Pinoy Big Brother housemate, “It's been an eye-opening few days.
"Sometimes, you think that you did something okay and it takes a little while for it to sink in na, ‘Oo nga, no. Mali pala talaga ako.'"
Inamin din ni Slater na noong una ay naguguluhan siya kung bakit minasama ang iba ang kanyang sinabi.
"It took a few days to sink in, parang it took a lot of reading through comments because I wanted to understand why this was the case.
"Kasi feeling ko, nasa bubble ako na hindi ko nakita kung ano yung nakikita ng iba.
“And I finally realized na, ‘Oh my God, yeah, I really made a mistake because I’m giving it power to say it’s okay, me saying that it’s normal, kind of normalizes it and makes it okay.'
"The last thing in my mind and my heart would be to objectify women."
Simula nang batikusin tungkol sa kanyang sinabi ay nakaramdam daw ng hiya si Slater nang mapagtanto niyang maling-mali ang sinabi niya.
“Now, giving it more context and more perspective, parang nahiya ako of the things that I’ve said.
“When I read the articles, I don’t feel angry. I feel ashamed na nako-quote ako nang ganyan and, like, parang... This is not me and I wish I could take it back," saad niya.
Sa lahat ng nangyari ay may isang bagay ring napagtanto si Slater.
Aniya, “I should have set a better example.
"I should have called it out na, yes, it happens, but this isn’t okay.
"We should hold ourselves to a higher standard.
“Ayun yung pinakamalaki kong learning—a big eye-opener for me.
"It’s a learning experience for me especially given the platform that we have.
"It’s something to move forward and grow on.
"Kailangan mas malalim yung pag-intindi ko on how my words can have a lot of repercussions.”
Sa huli, taus-pusong humingi ng tawad si Slater.
Maaaring nagkamali raw siya sa paggamit ng mga salita, ngunit hindi niya ito sinasadya.
Aniya, "I truly, truly do apologize in my heart of hearts.
“I just want to put this out there that I really do apologize and I need a little bit more time to reflect.
“Hindi talaga ako pro-objectifying women but yun yung mga words na sinabi ko, yun yung effect na nagawa ko sa mga sinabi ko.”
Dagdag pa niya, "Apologies. That’s not my intention.
"In my heart, hindi talaga yun ang intention ko. I hope na mapagbigyan."
