Isang linggo matapos ganapin ang Miss Universe Philippines 2023 grand coronation night, naglabas ng official statement si Shamcey Supsup tungkol sa nangyaring "technical issues."
Si Shamcey ang national director ng Miss Universe Philippines Organization. Siya rin ay third runner-up sa Miss Universe 2011.
Matatandaang dapat sana ay uusad sa evening gown competition ang mga kandidatang pasok sa Top 10, na pinili mula sa Top 18.
Pero ang nangyari, matapos ang komosyon dahil diumano sa "mahinang internet connection" at "manual" computation, pinabalik ng host na si Xian Lim sa stage ang lahat ng Top 18 para sa susunod na portion ng pageant na ginanap sa Mall of Asia Arena sa Pasay City, May 13, 2023.

Ibig sabihin ay nawalang saysay ang Top 10, at naging game changer sa pageant ang desisyong ito.
Halimbawa, hindi pasok si Miss Pampanga Angelique Manto sa Top 10, pero nakarampa siya sa evening gown dahil sa desisyon at umabot pa siya sa Top 5.

SHAMCEY’S EXPLANATION
Gabi ng May 19, 2023, Biyernes, nag-post si Shamcey sa kanyang Instagram account.
Inamin ng dating beauty queen na nagkaroon ng “discrepancies” sa tabulated results sa pagpili ng Top 10 at posibleng nakompromiso umano ang resulta.
Binanggit ni Shamcey na siya mismo ang nakapansin ng “discrepancies," kaya mabilis na nagsagawa sila ng manual counting ng scores ng judges.
Idiniin din ni Shamcey na nang gawin ang automated tallying at manual tallying ay naroon ang presensiya ng accounting firm.
Binanggit sa pageant na ang kilalang accounting firm na SGV & Co ang partner ng Miss Universe Philippines Organization sa pag-tally ng votes sa grand coronation.
Bahagi ng paliwanag ni Shamcey: “Following the announcement, which was based on the independently tabulated results provided by the accounting firm, those very same results were submitted to the board of MUPh for record-keeping purposes.
“However, as I carefully examined the figures, my attention was drawn to the highly improbable nature of the numbers. This gave rise to concerns that the integrity of the results may have been compromised.
“In order to ensure absolute fairness and transparency, the board made the decision to initiate a manual counting of the judges' votes. This meticulous process was conducted with the utmost diligence and in the presence of the accounting firm.
“As a result, it became evident that there were discrepancies in the initial top 10 results.”
Kaya nagdesisyon ang organisasyon na rumampa sa evening gown portion ang Top 18.
“Our primary objective as an organization is to promote integrity, transparency, and accountability in all aspects of the pageant. We believe in providing equal opportunities for all candidates and to do what is right no matter the consequences.”
Bukod sa post na ito ni Shamcey, may dalawa pa siyang magkasunod na Instagram Story na may kaugnayan sa kanyang official statement.
Naging malaman ang IG Stories ni Shamcey na nagdetalye pa tungkol sa nakita raw niyang discrepancies.
Aniya: “12 judges x 10 votes = 120 total votes
“Pano po naging 106 total votes?
“Any gradeschooler would have noticed”
Kasunod pa nito: “I love how Math is an exact discipline where the truth is indisputable.
