ABS-CBN actress-performer Chie Filomeno is thrilled about the collaboration between her home network and its rival, GMA-7.
Kapamilya noontime show It's Showtime, in which the former GirlTrends member frequently appears as a celebrity guest, began airing on GTV on July 1, 2023.
GTV is a free-to-air television network owned and operated by Citynet Network Marketing and Productions Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of GMA Network Inc.
In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Chie conveyed her anticipation for the collaboration, particularly after hearing Atty. Felipe Gozon's declaration that the "TV war is finally over."
"Yes, I am, especially nung narinig ko si Atty. Gozon, right? Ang nagsabi na 'TV war is finally over,'" Chie told PEP.ph at the launch of Forever 21 and Barbie at SM Mega Fashion Hall, Friday, June 30, 2023.
She added, "Just talking about it now, may goosebumps pa rin ako. Kasi finally, masu-showcase na lahat ng talent [sa isang show]—Kapuso, Kapamilya.
"And, I'm really excited with this collaboration."

During the premiere episode of It's Showtime on GTV, Kapuso stars Barbie Forteza, Sanya Lopez, Pokwang, Rayver Cruz, Rodjun Cruz, Mark Bautista, and Christian Bautista made a special appearance.
Chie is eager to collaborate with more Kapuso stars if given the chance.
When asked about the Kapuso talent she would like to work with, she enthusiastically mentioned GMA-7's Primetime Queen Marian Rivera.
She said, "Miss Marian Rivera! Yes, definitely! Kasi si Gabbi [Garcia], friend ko na rin siya.
"So, yun, nakuha ko na si Gabbi! So, si Miss Marian, naman."
Chie expressed her admiration for Marian and shared her aspiration to become a woman like the Kapuso actress.
The Star Magic talent explained, "Kasi grabe yung beauty, e. At saka, totoong tao siya. Totoong tao siya. And, yun yung kailangan natin sa industry.
"An, I aspire to be that like, si Ate Anne also, si Miss Marian. I aspire to be the woman that they are now."
WORKING ON A VERY GOOD GIRL
In addition to It's Showtime, Chie is filled with excitement about her upcoming movie project with Star Cinema titled A Very Good Girl.
The film features Kapamilya actress Kathryn Bernardo and 2023 British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) nominee Dolly de Leon.
When asked about how she feels working with both Kathryn and Dolly, Chie exclaimed, "Overwhelming, overwhelming! Kasi finally, makakatrabaho ko na ulti si Kath after so long and with Miss Dolly pa.
"So ako, parang naiisip ko, grabe yung trust na binigay din sa akin ng Star Cinema, ni Direk Petersen [Vargas], everyone, pati yung mga staff."
Chie also feels an extra sense of significance as she was specifically handpicked for the role she is playing in the movie.
She told PEP.ph, "I appreciate that they trusted me with the role na binigay nila. Dahil ako daw talaga yung gusto nila sa role na yun. So, nakakatuwa na ako lang yung option dun."
Asked what she can share about her role, Chie revealed, "Nakakatuwa kasi very different ako. Ano siya, dark comedy. So, medyo makikita niyo yung comedy side ko dito."
