Inamin ni Enrique Gil, 31, na sumagi sa isip niya ang iwan ang show business sa loob ng tatlong taong siya ay hindi visible sa TV at pelikula.
Huli siyang napanood kasama si Liza Soberano sa Make It With You, ang prime-time series ng ABS-CBN na naputol sa ere dala ng unang bugso ng COVID-19 pandemic noong 2020.

"I was at a point na gusto ko tahimik lang yung buhay ko. Iiwan ko yung showbiz. I just wanted to focus on me and my mom's business," pagsisiwalat ni Enrique.
"But you know, something did not sit well with me. I can't just leave the industry na wala pala akong naiwan more than the projects I've done.
"I wanna make a difference sa industry natin. Boost Filipino content out here, so not just [for] local but international viewers."
Hanggang sa nabuo ang konsepto para sa kanyang comeback film na I am Not A Big Bird.
Co-produced ito ng Anima Studios, Black Sheep, Epicmedia, at production company ni Enrique na Make-A-Break Productions.
"So, we just talked with some of the writers from ABS before and Ranvel and bigla na lang ito nabuo out of nowhere.
"This is also the reason why I came back.
"Kahit siguro matanda na ako, kahit di na ako puwede umarte sa harap ng camera, nagbibigay pa rin ako kahit papano ng entertainment sa Filipino."
Ibinahagi ito ni Enrique sa Anima Studios seventh anniversary party na ginanap sa Ugly Duck Tapas & Rooftop Lounge sa Poblacion, Makati City kagabi, July 13, 2023.
Excited si Enrique dahil on and off cam ay may stake siya sa proyekto.
Sabi niya sa PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), "I just wanted to do something na kahit wala na ako sa camera in the future I can still provide content, entertainment for Filipinos.
"Ang dream ko lang talaga is mas makilala tayo sa ibang bansa. Basically that's it—the legacy na maiwan natin."
Sexy comedy ang tema ng pelikula, at tila naiiba sa romance-drama projects na karaniwang ginagawa niya noon sa ABS-CBN.
Hindi kaya manibago ang fans niya?
Sabi naman ni Enrique, "It's good. If you're too comfortable you don't move. Kailangan maging uncomfortable ka para gumalaw. So I really take that to heart."
Tumatak din daw sa kanya ang paniniwala ng namayapang ama sa kasabihang "Laughter is the best medicine."
"He used to tell me, whatever you do, kahit sa trabaho, kahit pagod siya sa trabaho he always makes sure na nagpapatawa siya. So, it just stuck to me.
"And I've never really done any comedy films ever. So sabi ko, I wanna do something different.
More than anything I just wanna have a good time. I just want to be happy, to laugh sa lahat ng stress sa buhay. Simple lang."

Aminado naman si Enrique na baka manganay siya sa pag-arte.
"Ewan ko, sa tagal ko nawala, parang start to zero na naman ako. I think its gonna feel all new again kasi medyo di na ako sanay mag-taping.
"But I know I will be ready pag asa set na kami. For now, I'm super excited."
Makakasama niya sa pelikula sina Pepe Herrera, Nikko Natividad, at Red Ollero. Ang director ay si Victor Villanueva, habang ang writers ay sina Lilit Reyes at Joma Labayen

UPCOMING TV SERIES ON ABS-CBN
Noong April 25, pumirma ng exclusive contract si Enrique sa Kapamilya Network
Nang tanungin ng PEP.ph kung may nakapila na siyang proyekto sa ABS-CBN, sagot niya, "Yes, we pitched a concept to ABS, a TV series, ginagawa na po ngayon, siguro mga next year ang release, exclusively for ABS-CBN."
Dahil galing sa production company niya ang konsepto ay posible raw na co-produced iyon.
Si Enrique ay bumida sa limang teleserye ng ABS-CBN: Princess and I (2012-2013), Mirabella (2014), Forevermore (2014-2015), Dolce Amore (2016), Bagani (2018), at Make It With You (2020).
Apat sa mga ito ay kasama niya ang reel-and-real-life sweetheart na si Liza.
Bumida rin sila sa mga pelikulang Just The Way You Are (2015), Everyday I Love You (2015), My Exs And Whys (2017), at Alone/Together (2019).
