Lumabas sa social media at mga Facebook account ng TV stations ngayong hapon ng Miyerkules, August 2, 2023, ang kopya ng “Travel Authority” ni Quezon City 1st District Representative Arjo Atayde mula sa House of Representatives.
July 10, 2023, pa lumabas mula sa Secretariat ng Lower House ang nasabing dokumento.
Nakasaad dito: “This is to authorize your Honor to travel to Switzerland to witness the international screening of the movie Topakk during the 2023 Locarno International Film Festival, in your capacity as Vice Chairperson of the Special Committee on Creative Industry and Performing Arts and to Italy and Greece to visit the Filipino communities on 05—27 August 2023.
“As such, you are entitled to travel tax exemption.”
Ito ang ipinupunto ng misis ni Arjo na si Maine Mendoza matapos nitong sitahin ang isang online news site na naglabas ng balita tungkol sa biyahe ng mag-asawa sa Europe.
Nais ni Maine na maidagdag sa nasabing ulat na “official” travel ito ni Arjo bilang mambabatas kasama siya at walang pondo ng pamahalaan ang magagamit, maliban sa "travel tax exemption."

Ngayong Miyerkules, naglabas ng sertipikasyon ang opisina ng Secretary General ng Kongreso upang linawing walang pondo ng bayan na hiningi si Arjo sa biyahe niyang ito.
Nakasaad dito, “This is to certify that HON. JUAN CARLOS C. ATAYDE, Representative, 1st District, Quezon City, was issued a Travel Authority dated 10 July 2023 to Switzerland to attend the international screening of the movie “Topakk” during the 2023 Locarno International Film Festival, in his capacity as Vice Chairperson of the Special Committee on Creative Industry and Performing Arts and to Italy and Greece to visit the Filipino communities.
"Hon. Atayde did not request for any funding from the House of Representatives and said travel will be at his own expense.
"02 August 2023."
Kaninang umaga lang din, iginiit ni Maine na kulang sa konteksto ang balitang inilabas ng online news site tungkol sa biyahe nila ni Arjo sa Europe.
Post niya sa X (dating Twitter), “The article is still misleading and lacking context. It insinuates that this trip is at government expense.
"There are two kinds of “official” travels and I hope you include that in your article and where this trip falls under.
"I will probably be asked to delete this again but I shall say it again one last time, EVERYTHING is at PERSONAL EXPENSE. 100%. No government funds will be used.
"Hope you can insert that somewhere in your article. Salamat.”
