Veteran actress Susan Africa found herself the subject of funny memes from netizens after seeing the trailer of FPJ's Batang Quiapo recently.
The trailer showed Susan looking all glammed up — a far cry from her previous poverty-stricken, sickly roles on television that viewers got used to seeing.
Needless to say, Susan taking on what looks like a wealthy character was a breath of fresh air for eagle-eyed netizens, enough for them to come up with hilarious memes on social media to celebrate the moment.
Here are just some that made the rounds in social media.
THE MEMES
Amid the controversies surrounding the confidential funds of high-ranking government officials and agencies, and the raging debate around it, netizens still found time to insert humor by showing photos of Susan in contrasting roles.

We all know that dreaded feeling of trying to hang on until the next payday comes. Apparently, Susan is with us as shown in this funny meme.

"Wala na siyang ubo" some netizens funnily said, pertaining to Susan's shift from sickly to a well-to-do role.
The Facebook page Klasik Titos and Titas of Manila wrote, "After 3 decades wala na siyang ubo. The world is healing! Eme [laughing emoji]"
Equally, hilarious were the comments made by Klasik Titos and Titas of Manila.
It wrote, "Susan Africa alta era!" and "Congrats Susan Africa. Sanaol may plot twist ng pag yaman sa 2023 [laughing emoji]."
Meanwhile, some pointed out that Susan had portrayed "rich" characters in the past, making this not the first time that she took on a similar role that is not "mahirap" and "sakitin."
She played the character of Mrs. Lorenzo in the 1999 movie Gimik: The Reunion and Elaine Santillan in the 2007 Claudine Barretto and Piolo Pascual series, Walang Kapalit.
One X (formerly Twitter) also said that Susan played the role of a mayor's wife in a 2011 TV series.
