Ibinahagi ni Frankie Pangilinan sa Instagram kahapon, September 28, 2023, na ginawan niya ng kanta ang inang si Sharon Cuneta.
Regalo raw ito ni Frankie sa ina.
Kinalakihan na raw ni Frankie na lagi siyang karay-karay ni Sharon sa recording studios, pero isang araw ay siya na ang humihikayat sa inang samahan ito sa trabaho.
Singer-musician si Frankie, na panganay sa tatlong anak ni Sharon sa asawang si former Senator Kiko Pangilinan.
Ang nasabing kanta ay pinamagatan ni Frankie na “Lambing ng Megastar” at mapapanood din si Sharon sa music video nito.
Ani Frankie sa kanyang Instagram post, “i grew up watching mom through the window-slices of recording studios.
"she’d bring me to work and i’d stand on barstools or vinyl couches just to catch a glimpse of her going through lyric pages in cold, shadowy vocal booths, and at the age of twenty-two, for the very first time, i took my mommy to work with me.
“despite a career that’s spanned decades and affected generations beyond her own, she’d never owned a record of hers until i wrote this song at three in the morning when @ferntan_ sent me its bare bones. this is my gift to her.”
Bilang suporta sa ina, sinabayan din daw nila ng kapatid na si Miel Pangilinan si Sharon sa pagkanta nito.
Pinasalamatan din ni Frankie ang bandang kasamang umawit ni Sharon sa music video, ang Kindred.
Mensahe pa niya, "it opens with 'maybe the DJ’s gone…' which is obviously referential to rey valera and his song about a love so deep it transcends all manners of space, connecting people through the buzz of flimsy radio waves.
"now that forty-five years have passed, the challenge was to write something about the same love only older, aged. could it transcend time as well? if you listen closely, you can hear @mielpangilinan and i singing with mommy in the distant background. we’re there as markers of the present.
