Dinepensahan ng singer na si Dave Lamar ang asawang si Morissette laban sa akusasyong wala itong ganang mag-perform sa isang private event kamakailan.

Ayon kay Dave, ginawa ng asawa ang lahat ng makakaya kahit may dinaramdam ito nung araw mismo ng event.
Kalakip nito ang video ng bahagi ng performance ni Morissette kung saan bumibirit pa rin ito sa kabila ng masamang pakiramdam.
Pagmamalaki pa ni Dave sa asawa, "Man, I wish I sound this good when I’m sick. But then again, don’t we all? HAHA
"But real talk, I took this clip of Mori during this event because I couldn’t believe she still sounded this good despite being sick this day. Whatta trooper!"
Komento ng isang netizen, mahirap talagang i-please ang lahat ng netizens kahit ginawa mo lahat ang makakaya mo.
Saad nito, "So this is the said event. You can’t really please everyone. Damned if you don't and damned if you do. But still mori slayed as usual."
Sagot ni Dave, "you really can’t. It’s just really sad how people will go out of their way to bring someone down without even knowing the other side of the situation."
Isang Vic Sevilla, events director sa private events, ang nag-rant sa Facebook dahil sa ipinakita umanong performance ng hindi pinangalanang singer sa event nila.
Pero malinaw na si Morissette ang tinutukoy nito dahil sa kanyang pagbanggit ng salitang "phoenix," na nakakabit sa pangalan ng singer.
"Asia's Phoenix" ang bansag kay Morissette.
Saad ni Sevilla, “In one of the corporate events I directed recently, we had a guest singer perform four songs in the finale number. She is known for belting extremely difficult songs and her ability to ‘whistle’ à la Mariah Carey has been well documented. Because of this, she has been labelled as the ‘phoenix’.”
Nag-expect daw sila sa singer dahil kilala itong bumibirit nang mataas; subalit napalitan ito ng pagkadismaya nang mapansin nilang tila wala itong gana sa pagkanta.
Pagpapatuloy ng events director, “Naturally, we were expecting no less than a fiery performance from her. Sadly, her much-vaunted vocal power appeared to be missing that night. She seemed zapped of energy, acted uninterested, and sounded distant and cold. It was as if all enthusiasm escaped her the moment she stepped on stage.”
Sabi pa nito, sana raw ay pineke na lang ng singer ang kanyang pagkagalak imbes na ipakita sa mga taong nanonood na parang gusto na niyang lisanin ang stage na kinatatayuan niya.
“It was just disappointing given that performers of her stature and popularity demand a hefty price to appear in corporate events. At the very least, she could have faked enthusiasm to cheer the audience up and not act as if she wanted to get off the stage in haste. She was, at that moment, a complete waste of time and money."
