Kingdom of the Planet of The Apes carries forward the legacy of Caesar, a revolutionary figure who led the apes in their struggle for freedom and equality with humans.

Set around three centuries after the climactic events of War for the Planet of the Apes, this standalone installment not only honors its predecessors, but also charts a new course for the franchise.

Why it’s worth the trip to cinemas, here are three compelling reasons.

THE MAIN CHARACTERS

Owen Teague delivers an impressive performance as Noa, the main protagonist tasked with bearing the burden of a new era.

Kevin Durand portrays Proximus Caesar—the formidable villainous leader—with commanding presence.

While the Bonobo warriors of his clan all look alike, it is easy to spot Proximus Caesar because of his foreboding aura.

Thanks to Weta FX's mastery of visual effects, the facial expressions and emotions of the apes, particularly in close-up shots, are remarkably vivid.

Freya Allan's portrayal of Mae is also commendable, particularly in the film's early moments where her vulnerability shines through with the rawness of her character.

THE SCENES’ THRILLS AND CHILLS

Director Wes Ball skillfully steers the heart-pounding momentum of a film pulsating with adrenaline, deftly knowing when to rev up the action.

Right from the start, audiences are treated to a taste of what lies ahead: sequences that surpass even Ball's Maze Runner trilogy.

And throughout its showing, the movie immerses the viewers in an electrifying experience akin to watching a live, intense game unfold before their eyes.

Josh Friedman's storytelling unravels with unpredictability, as scenes progress in unimaginable ways.

THE VISUAL AND SOUND EFFECTS

The film has garnered widespread acclaim as a visual spectacle that rivals even James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water (2022).

Its sound effects and scoring also deserve a mention. They not only heighten the emotions, but also infuse the scenes with exhilarating intensity, enriching the overall cinematic experience.

Go see the Kingdom of the Planet of The Apes and be thrilled by the full experience of it.
