Sa roundtable interview kasama ang global celebrity noong April 16, 2024, inusisa ng (Philippine Entertainment Portal) si Apl.de.Ap kung ano ang pinakamahal na bagay na nabili niya para sa kanyang sarili.
Sagot ng Philippine-born musician, "What I think is the most rewarding thing that I've purchased is ricefields."
Nakangiting pagbabalik-tanaw ni Apl.de.Ap, "Yes, I called my mom one day, I think I was in like Germany, and I don't know, it just popped in my head.
"I'm like, 'We're always going to need rice. I'm going to buy ricefields,' you know.
"So I called my mom. I'm like, 'Mom, you know, I need you to look for some land.
Let's buy ricefields, you know.'
"It's like, 'Anak, are you okay? Are you drunk?'
"I'm like, 'Well, that's besides the point.'
"And she's like, and then I went home for one holiday, the next holiday, and we got that, and that was over a decade ago.
"So I never had to buy rice again."
