As a DJ, Rise Artist talent Jimmy Nocon dreams of collaborating with OPM artists to create music.
After all, he has always been passionate about songwriting.
"I used to write songs when I was young," he recalled in a exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) via Facebook Messenger.
He continued, "Bata palang mahilig na akong gumawa ng rap songs then gagawan ko ng beat. So yes, in the future, I hope to make and release my own original music.
"I've been really busy with my gigs lately, but I think I'm heading in that direction, especially with the rise of P-pop music. Why not, di ba?"
With that in mind, Jimmy hopes to collaborate and perform original songs with his fellow Kapamilya talents, BINI.
"Of course, I also want to perform alongside BINI, the rising Filipino idol group in the P-pop industry.
"I love playing their songs during my sets because their music brings such high energy and positivity to the crowd.
"Grabe yung energy ng mga tao once I play their songs like 'Pantropiko' at 'Salamin, Salamin' tapos kabisado nila yung dance steps."
Jimmy also hopes to collaborate with "Mr. Pure Energy," Gary Valenciano in a concert.
"In the future, I want to work with Sir Gary Valeciano because we all know about his dynamic stage presence and energetic performances.
"Actually, I already worked with him during ASAP but I would like to share the stage with him again but this time hopefully in a concert."

JIMMY NOCON: PURSUING MUSIC
Jimmy is currently active in the party and events scene, not only in the metro but also in various locations across the country.
The celebrity DJ, however, emphasizes that DJ-ing involves much more than standing at a booth, remixing, and delivering beats, contrary to what other might perceive.
He explained, "Nowadays, nakikita ko na DJing is more than just standing there and playing music.
"For me, it’s part of the entertainment industry, and as a performer, you need to bring something unique to the table, something kakaiba."
Jimmy often collaborates with other musicians, like violinists or saxophonists, inviting them to play live alongside his remixing of beats in real-time.
He said, "Recently, I've been focusing on delivering a concert-like atmosphere by incorporating electrifying intros to set the tone right from the start.
"Naging trademark ko na yung mga intros ko and everytime I start, nakalabas na yung phones ng mga tao because they are waiting for my appearance, then I’ll drop a beat to hype them more.
"To further enhance the experience, I often collaborate with saxophone players and drum-beaters, alongside my electric drums.
"This combination of live instruments adds an extra layer of excitement and dynamism to my sets.
"I also had several collaborations with other artists such as violinists, bands, and dancers."
Jimmy continued, "I view my work as more than just playing music, I see it as delivering a performance.
"Additionally, interaction plays a crucial role in my DJ approach. Importante sa bawat gig ko yung connection with my audience.
"Every now and then, I'll invite someone from the crowd to dance with me on stage, to keep things lively and connected.
"It's incredibly humbling to hear some people in the industry refer to me as a 'game-changer," and I'm grateful for the opportunity to inspire others positively."
JIMMY NOCON: CRAZIEST FAN EXPERIENCE
Jimmy mentioned that he's traveled extensively across the Philippines and has had the chance to explore key attractions in various towns and enjoy their local cuisine.
However, when asked about his most memorable out-of-town gig, he recounted an event in Davao. During his performance, a magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck the city.
He recalled, "It was around December 2023, I had a gig in Davao where thousands of attendees. During my set, an earthquake struck the region.
"As everyone was partying, biglang lumindol at sobrang lakas talaga nung pagyanig, forcing the organizers to stop the music and guide people to safety.
"Fortunately, the venue, Crocodile Park, is an open ground and was the safest place to be at that moment."
"Kudos to the event organizers for handling the situation calmly, moving us from the stage to the open area. Nilipat nila yung DJs booth sa baba ng stage.
"Some people decided to go home, while others stayed and prayed.
"It was a mix of emotions, but I noticed that Davaoeños are accustomed to such calamities and didn’t panic much.
"After ensuring it was safe and with the crowd's consent, we continued the party.
"That was my most unforgettable gig so far, but I can say that each event has been memorable in its own unique way."
As for his craziest fan experience, Jimmy recounted having excited ladies rushing the stage moments after he appeared.
"Actually, I have a video that went viral where the ladies rushed the stage seconds after I appeared.
"Usually kasi kapag walang bouncer o guards, sumusugod yung mga tao sa stage kaya that time, dinumog ako ng crowd.
"Since I think almost 90% of the audience were girls, they got too excited and swarmed the DJ’s booth just seconds after I started my intro, nagpuntahan agad sila sakin kahit di pa tapos intro ko.
"Organizers couldn’t control them, merong nagpupunas ng pawis ko kasi ang init parang nakulob na yung sa area ko, yung iba pinaghahalikan ako sa cheeks, meron pang nagpapaypay sakin, basta nakakatawa na nakakatuwa.
"It was really a crazy experience."

Another memorable fan encounter for Jimmy occurred when a fan ingeniously devised a creative entrance just to snap a photo with him on stage.
Jimmy shared, "Another one is when someone carried his friend on his shoulders, they were coming from the back of the crowd I think.
"She was standing on his shoulders making it quite the grand entrance, which I noticed immediately. Parang next-level crowd-surfing just to take a picture with me."

JIMMY NOCON: ACTING?
But apart from music, is Jimmy open to acting opportunities?
He answered, "If given the opportunity to have a big break as an actor, why not?
"Music and acting are both my passions. Whenever I want to achieve something, I see to it that I do my best and excel at that particular situation or profession.
"Besides, I’ve trained for acting through teleseryes, commercials, and theater groups in high school and college.
"If given the chance, I’d love to take on roles, especially in romantic comedies and action movies."
Jimmy, however, emphasized that he's very much focused on his DJ and music career.
"I currently prefer DJing, naka-focus ako ngayon sa DJing at dito ko rin talaga nakikita yung sarili ko.
"The acting industry is highly competitive, mas madaming established names and rising stars, while DJing offers a better chance to gain the spotlight, dito ako mas nag-eexcel."
