Sa ika-34 taon niya bilang rapper, magpapasiklab si Andrew E. sa first major concert niyang 1Time For Your Mind.

Ayon sa concert producer na si Jonathan Wee ng Ticket1, pinaghalong Ben & Ben at December Avenue ang production budget ng nasabing concert na gaganapin sa Disyembre 11, 2024, sa New Frontier Theater, Cubao, Quezon City.
GETTING ANDREW E. TO DO A CONCERT
E, di ba, ang talent fee pa lang ng Ben & Ben ay nakakalula na?! Ano ang nakapag-convince kay Andrew E para sa concert na ito?
“Well, kung hihiramin ko yung sinabi mong nakakalula sa ibang artist yung ano, yung nakapagpa-convince, no… e, sa akin, nahulog ka na sa building!” bulalas ni Andrew E. noong Hunyo 23, Linggo ng hapon sa Golden Ballroom ng Okada Manila, Parañaque City.
“Hindi ka na nalula. Nahulog ka na! Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! You know, but ang deciding factor talaga is the welcoming arms of Ticket1 and at the same time, of Sir Jonathan Wee and the whole family of the Wee family.
“Yung welcoming arms ang nakapagpa-convince sa akin talaga. With their excitement, nakita ko yung mirror of excitement from them, from their faces.
“And then, for me parang na-in house ako sa pagmamahal ng pamilya nila. So you know, like how can I be not captured with that?
“Di ba, sabi ko, ito lang ang talagang nag-offer sa akin ng ganito na with all freedom, with all ano, with all the auspices of their capacity to put up a major concert, binigay sa akin.
“So, it’s a very grand offer. So, para sa akin, never akong na-offer-an ng ganun. O, e di sinuklian ko lang na never akong nag-sign. Sa kanya lang.”
Mahaba at matagal ba ang negotiation niya with Sir Jonathan Wee?
Poker-faced na tugon ni Andrew E., “Honestly, yeah. It took us, ahhh... two dinners and one coffee.
“So ganun. Parang two and a half! Ha-ha-ha-ha!” pagbungisngis niya.
“So ganun. And then siyempre naman, yung mga nag-o-offer na iba, ano lang yun, di ba? A lot of people, by phone. A lot of people, by you know, acquaintances.
“Minsan, sa party. Minsan, sa mga you know grand meetings. May mag-o-offer sa 'yo, ‘O, i-produce ko ang concert mo.’
“Minsan, sa opisina. But there’s never been a much bigger scale of two dinners and one coffee.
“So yun lang ang nagawa ng Sir Jonathan Wee and Ticket1 kaya dun pa lang, of course with bitbit niyang team, of course… yun ang clincher. Yun ang clincher talaga.
“So I’m in a very helpful hand, and at the same time, they will take care of me.
“And at the same time, they will take care of this kind of entertainment soon for the Filipinos, or probably for Manileños, or probably the people in the Philippines coming here in Manila to watch the show.
“So I’m in good hands. So dun pa lang, you know at home ako. And there’s never a ‘no.’ It’s always a big ‘yes.’”
Malawak ang karanasan ni Jonathan Wee bilang concert producer nang mahigit dalawang dekada. Kabilang sa mga nakatrabaho niya sina Ogie Alcasid, Rey Valera, Apo Hiking Society, Hotdogs, Neocolours, The Boyfriends, Noel Cabangon, Nyoy Volante, Jon Santos, Bituin Escalante, Mitch Valdes, at Nanette Inventor.
WHY ANDREW E. STILL CLICKS
Malapit-lapit nang maging senior citizen si Andrew E., pero klik na klik pa rin sa Millennials, Gen Z, at Gen Alpha ang mga kanta niya. Ano ba ang demographics o target audience ng kanyang first major concert?
Napabuntong-hininga si Andrew E, “Well, ahhmm... ang unang-una talagang hindi magpapakawala ng tiket diyan, is yung mga tao from way back thirty years or three decades ago na hindi nakatikim ng isang major Andrew E. concert.
“Sila yung hindi magpapakawala nito. The chance being given na isalang ang tiket nito, the moment na isalang ang tiket nito sa ticket outlets or sa ticket venues or whatever e hindi nila pakakawalan ito. That’s one.
“And two, makikisiksik dito yung mga taong lumaki sa kanta ko.
“And three, sisiksik lalo dito yung mga taong inabutan ako dun sa decades kung saan nilagay ko yung mga major hits ko.
“For example, yung 'Banyo Queen,' yung 'Humanap Ka Ng Panget,' that was year 1990. And then itong mga lately, 'Shoot-Shoot' and shall I say, another song to that effect is around 2010.
“So dun sisiksik din again yun. But then, ang most of all na talagang makikipagsiksikan dito, and I feel, you know like and I’m so hundred percent sure…
“Na ang bibili dito, yung mga hundred percent curious on how an Andrew E. will be when it comes to concert series.
“So kumbaga, ‘Kasi nakikita namin si Andrew E. Nakita namin siya sa fiesta. Nakita namin siya sa mga guesting-guesting,’ and all.
“Sa TV, sa road show, and all that. ‘Pero never namin siyang nakita na umupo ang tao and get entertained by Andrew E.’
“So yung curiousity is so high… that yung isa sa mga we will bank on, that kind of people na medyo makikipagsiksikan talaga sa tiket na ito.”

Ano pa ba ang gustong ma-achieve ni Andrew E.?
Napangiti ang veteran rapper, “Number one, katulad nito, hanggang ngayon, hindi pa ako nakakatikim ng ganitong major concert.
“So this is an achievement for me, a big achievement and plus with the team, with Boss Wee… this means more to me than anything.
“This major concert means more to me. Kaya para sa akin, ahh... it’s just not my best will come out, no. It’s more than my best.
“And probably it’s what I have in my pocket, keeping it for like three decades now waiting to come out para ipakita at i-entertain ang tao.”
Sagana pa rin ba ang kanyang creative juice? Excited pa rin siya sa mga bagong nalilikha niyang kanta?
Tumango si Andrew E., “Yeah, and hindi lang sa kanta. Siyempre for me, ang creative juice na tinutukoy mo would be falling on the place where I want something new.
“Ako mismo. Ako mismo! Hindi lang yung crowd na manonood nito, hindi lang yung crowd na mae-entertain nito. Ako mismo!
“I want something new for myself. Na for me, talagang if I do this come December 11, ako mismo ang makaka-witness, ‘Wow! Ganito pala ang itsura nito pag nagawa ko ito.’
“So yung happiness na yun is I’m striving for that, you know. Kaya hindi mauubos at hindi makakawala yung idea na when I do this, I am auditioning myself for myself.
“In reverse. Ino-audition ko yung sarili ko to be good for myself para pag good ako sa sarili ko, and it’s much better for the people, and I feel that way.”
