The 24-year-old gymnast ruled the vault final at the Paris Olympics men's artistic gymnastics competition on Sunday, August 4, 2024, finishing with two gold medals and marking another historic achievement for the Philippines.

Carlos' impressive feat made him the first Filipino athlete to clinch multiple Olympic gold medals.

He secured the gold medal just a day after winning the floor exercise final on Saturday, August 3, punching the Philippines' second Olympic gold medal.

This achievement came three years after weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz ended the country’s 97-year wait for an Olympic gold.

Carlos tallied an average score of 15.166, with a magnificent handspring double front half out piked earning a 15.433 on his first vault, followed by a Kasamatsu double twist that scored 14.800 on his second.

Meanwhile, Artur Vahrami Davtyan from Armenia took home the silver medal, while Harry Hepworth from Great Britain settled for bronze.
