Actor KD Estrada views his loveteam partner Alexa Ilacad's solo projects with pride rather than competition.
KD shared this sentiment to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an exclusive interview on August 9, 2024, during the launch event of basketball star Dwight Ramos as the ambassador of G-SHOCK’s G-Steel GBM-2100 Series held at SM Megamall.
Rather than feeling competitive, KD is incredibly proud to see Alexa excelling independently in her endeavors.
He told PEP.ph, "Actually, ano, I'm very... supportive ako kay Alexa solo man o kung mag-isa't kasama ako and, yeah, I'm very happy for her for this project."
Alexa is currently busy in shooting her new movie Mujigae, directed by Randolph Longjas. The film features an ensemble cast including South Korean actor Kim Ji Soo, Rufa Mae Quinto, Lito Pimentel, among others.
If anything, KD said he misses Alexa a bit since she has to lock-in for the movie.
"Naka-lock-in siya for Mujigae... yes, sa totoo lang, nakaka-miss din talaga," he told PEP.ph.
For now, KD is concentrating on his health, having recently recovered from several health challenges.
"As of now, I'm just more on working on my health kasi, recently, nagkatrangkaso ako tapos tonsillitis.
"Then, I had wisdom teeth extraction. So, sabi ko sa sarili ko na ang daming nagkakasakit ngayon so I really have to take care of myself, my health.
"And whenever project comes naman, yeah I'll take it with open arms."

PEP.ph also inquired about KD's thoughts on Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11 since he is a former housemate himself.
KD admitted that he is not as up-to-date with the show, but he does watch clips online.
"Hindi masyado [updated], pero nakikita ko din online but not super updated."
While KD is not up-to-date with the happenings on the Kapamilya reality show, he expressed feeling a bit nostalgic, having been a housemate himself, and now watching it as a viewer like everyone else.
KD said, "It's really nostalgic din kasi nakaka-miss din yung bahay ni Kuya, especially yung libreng kape, yung libreng pagkain sa mga housemates."
One of the many experiences KD could relate to with the current housemates is the challenge of managing their weekly budget, as grocery price inside the house is different from the "outside world."
Recalling his experience, KD said, "Ganon talaga yun, sa loob ng bahay yung mga hindi essential, kunwari may chips na gusto mo... ayun yung naging issue ni Alexa, yung peanut butter, tinataasan yung presyo.
"Kasi hindi siya essential. I think it's a lesson din sa mga housemates."
As of August 19, 2024, four housemates have exited from the reality show: Noimie Steikunas, Kanata Tapia, Marc Nanninga Jr., and Therese Villamor.
When asked for advice he could share with the eliminated housemates, KD said, "Ang dami pang mga opportunities...
"It doesn't mean na you get evicted means it's over or you lost something.
"Pero ang dami rin, ang dami mo rin magi-gain, e, kahit ilang weeks ka lang sa bahay ni Kuya."
