Mananatili si Jojo Nones sa detention cell ng Senate of the Philippines hangga’t hindi umano nito ipinagtatapat ang katotohanan tungkol sa paratang laban sa kanya ng Sparkle artist na si Sandro Muhlach.
Sina Nones at Richard "Dode" Cruz ang suspended independent contractors ng GMA-7 na sinampahan ng reklamong rape through sexual assault at acts of lasciviousness ng 23-year-old na anak ni Niño Muhlach.

Sa pagpapatuloy ng imbestigasyon ng Senate Committee on Public Information and Mass Media tungkol sa reklamo ni Sandro, ngayong Lunes, Agosto 19, 2024, naubos ang pasensiya at nagalit si Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada dahil sa patuloy na pagsisinungaling umano ni Nones.
Maraming beses at paulit-ulit na binigyan ni Estrada ng pagkakataon si Nones na sabihin ang totoo, pero hindi natinag ang akusado na pinabulaanan ang lahat ng mga reklamo ni Sandro.
Nagdesisyon si Estrada na i-cite for contempt si Nones dahil itinanggi nitong inalok nila ni Cruz si Niño na magbibigay sila ng donasyon sa charitable institution na pipiliin ng aktor, kapalit ang kapatawaran para sa reklamong pang-aabuso na inihain ni Sandro.

Atty. annette gozon-valdes' signed affidavit
Sinabi ni Niño na naganap ang alok ng dalawang akusado nang magharap at mag-usap sila sa tahanan ni GMA Network, Inc. Senior Vice President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes.
Mariing pinabulaanan ni Nones ang pahayag ni Niño, pero inilabas ni Estrada ang affidavit na nilagdaan ni Gozon-Valdes.
“I was asking you a while ago if you offered Mr. Niño Muhlach financial contribution to any charitable institution of his own choice and you denied it,” reaksiyon ni Estrada sa patuloy na pagtanggi ni Nones sa lahat ng mga bintang ni Sandro.
“Now, here comes the affidavit signed by Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes who, I think, this person is very credible, saying that you did offer financial contribution to any charitable institution of his choice. What can you say?”
Nanindigan si Nones sa pahayag nito.
Sagot niya, “Your honor, upon review po of the affidavit po of Miss Annette Gozon, nowhere in the affidavit na she mentioned po that there was an offer of settlement your honor and in fact, she mentioned only the donation to the charitable institution after she put, after the paragraph, where she said that Mr. Niño Muhlach came from the previous scheduled charity event so it supports our statements earlier your honor.”
Mismong si Estrada na ang nagbasa ng nilagdaang affidavit ni Gozon-Valdes.
Bahagi ng nakasaad dito: "That Mr. Jojo Nones mentioned in that meeting that if Mr. Niño Muhlach would want, they can donate to a charitable instituition of Mr. Niño Muhlach’s choice.
“That Mr. Niño Muhlach declined. That Mr. Niño Muhlach stated that he wants to pursue the HR case against Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz.”
Komento ni Estrada, “O maliwanag na maliwanag dito sa affidavit na nagsisinungaling ka.”
Pagtanggi ni Nones, “Hindi po, your honor, kasi ang context po…”
Pagkontra ni Estrada, “Paanong hindi ka nagsisinungaling? I was asking you , did you offer any financial contributions to any charitable institution?”
Giit ni Nones, “No offer po of settlement your honor."
Diin naman ni Estrada, “I did not ask if it’s a settlement or not! The only question I am asking you is that if you offered financial contribution. I did not say it’s a settlement! You are putting words into my mouth.”

ESTRADA CITES NONES FOR CONTEMPT
Ramdam na sa kanyang boses ang galit ni Estrada kaya naghain siya ng mosyon upang i-cite for contempt si Nones.
Tanong ng senador kay Nones, “Mr. Jojo Nones, naiintindihan ninyo po ba yung mosyon na kayo po ay patawan ng contempt?”
Sagot ni Nones, “Opo, your honor. Pero with all due respect po, your honor, nag-e-explain lang po ako.”
Pero pambabara sa kanya ni Estrada, “Nagsisinungaling ka na, e.
"Alam mo, Jojo, hindi kita kilala kahit matagal na ako sa showbiz. Hindi kita kilala pero huwag naman ganoon.
“We are here trying to know the truth, ferret out the truth. Kapag patuloy kang nagsisinungaling dito sa amin, talagang isa-cite ka namin ng contempt.
“Maliwanag na maliwanag dito sa affidavit, maliwanag na maliwanag na sinabi ni Sandro, may drugs pa na involved, may sexual harassment na involved.
“Hindi pa nga sexual harassment, assault, e. Pinagsamantalahan ninyo yung bata, pinag-take ninyo ng drugs, tsaka ninyo pinagsamantalahan.
“That is drug induced sexual assault. Kawawa naman yung bata. Pinag-drugs ninyo na, hinalay ninyo pa.”
Dahil dito, iminungkahi ni Estrada na i-cite for contempt si Nones.
Walang kumontra kaya idineklara ni Committee on Public Information and Mass Media Chair Senator Robinhood Padilla na, “There is a motion to cite Mr. Jojo Nones in contempt. Without any objection, the motion is approved. So ordered.”
Sinundo ng mga sergeant-at-arms ng Senado si Nones mula sa kinauupuan nito para dalhin sa detention cell.
Mamamalagi siya sa kulungan hanggang hindi niya isinisiwalat ang katotohanan.
