Jake Ejercito, Jessy Mendiola, netizens hit DILG's insensitive "bogchi" post
Jake Ejercito and Jessy Mendiola are not happy with how the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) handled its public announcement. Jake says, "There’s a time and place for trying to be funny— this isn’t one of them."

Kabilang dito ang Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, La Union, Benguet, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Zambales, Bulacan, Bataan, NCR, Laguna, Rizal, Batangas, Quezon, Marinduque, Camarines Sur, Albay, Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Masbate, Romblon, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Antique, Negros Occidental, Guimaras, at Cavite.

Aniya, "Is this supposed to be funny?"

DILG RECEIVES BACKLASH FROM NETIZENS

Komento ng isang netizen: "Call me OA, but people are suffering, some are losing homes and loved ones. And yet, others act like everything’s perfectly fine, as if nothing’s happening. I hope we can be more mindful with our choice of words next time."

Sabi ng isa, "There's a lot of way to make things lighter, but you're not in the right position to make jokes in times like this. Just saying po."

Mensahe ng isa para kay Remulla: "Sir, public service requires professionalism, compassion, and timely communication—especially during crises. Mocking critical announcements undermines good governance and disregards public welfare. We urge a more dignified approach that prioritizes the safety, trust, and well-being of the Filipino people."

Sabi pa ng isang netizen: "There’s a time and place for humor. Not every moment needs a punchline. Nothing wrong with trying to be funny. But if someone is grieving, overwhelmed, or just trying to stay afloat, your joke does not help."
