Danzel has 38,800 followers on Instagram, 1,600 subscribers on YouTube, 118,000 followers on Facebook, and 54,000 followers on TikTok.
Except for TikTok, he began actively using the rest of these social media platforms in March 2020, at the onset of the pandemic.
His Facebook and TikTok accounts highlight his activities as a board member of Laguna’s first district.
Meanwhile, his Instagram feed offers glimpses into his life as a “Tech & Lifestyle Creator,” which has become a springboard for netizens to scrutinize his lavish lifestyle.
One notable clip features a quick 2022 tour of a rest house at Canyon Cove Residences in Batangas.
The footage, showcasing polished interiors and resort-style amenities, quickly draws attention from netizens.

One of the recent comments reads: "Punta dn aq jan yah, may ambag dn aq jan," "pwede pa airbnb nyo yan? Galing sa kaban naman ng bayan yan eh," and "naol may rest house at private helicopter."

Another resurfaced clip is a May 2021 video showing Danzel and a sibling riding in a helicopter, which Danzel said was sent by their father to pick them up for a trip to Batangas.

The video has generated new reactions from the netizens.

DANZEL FERNANDEZ'S POLITICAL BACKGROUND
Danzel has been in public office since 2022, serving as a Sangguniang Panlalawigan (provincial board member) for Laguna’s first district.
His father, Dan Fernandez, has been in public service since 1998.
He started as a member of the Laguna Provincial Board representing the 4th District (1998–2001), then served as Vice Governor of Laguna under Governor Teresita Lazaro (2001–2004).
Dan was elected to the House of Representatives for Laguna’s 1st District (2007–2016; 2019–2022) and served as mayor of Santa Rosa City from 2016 to 2019. He later represented Santa Rosa City’s Lone District from 2022 to 2025.
The online backlash comes amid increased scrutiny of politicians, their families, and government contractors following controversies involving flood-control and ghost projects.
Social media users have been especially vocal about perceived displays of extravagance by those connected to public officials.
At the time of writing, there are no documented connection between Dan and Danzel, and specific contractors implicated in recent probes into alleged corruption or ghost projects.
Netizens appear intent on monitoring how public servants’ families present themselves amid calls for greater transparency and accountability.
Dan’s involvement in flood-control projects is limited to his legislative advocacy, including calls to revisit the PHP18.7-billion Laguna Lake Rehabilitation Project—which was shelved in 2010—and his promotion of water-catchment systems.
Danzel, Dan Fernandez, and other family members have not issued public responses to the criticism. PEP reached out to Danzel via Instagram for comment but has yet to receive a reply or statement.
