Naniniwala ang beteranang broadcaster na si Korina Sanchez na marami pang tiwaling opisyal ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) na hindi pa nailalantad sa publiko.
Sinabi ito ni Korina kasunod ng balitang may dalawang opisyal ng BIR sa Taguig City na nahuling nangikil ng PHP600,000 mula sa isang negosyante.

Nakasaad dito: "Two BIR officials in Taguig were caught in an NBI sting after allegedly slashing a P36M tax bill down to P800K, pocketing P600K for themselves inside the bureau’s own office.
"Catching them is good, but let’s not kid ourselves: this is just one case that got exposed. How many more scams happen every day that never make the news?"

Inilabas din sa media ang dalawang opisyal ng BIR na nasakote sa pamamagitan ng isang presscon ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) kahapon, October 1, 2025.
Hindi pinangalanan ang dalawang akusado.
Pero mula raw sa PHP36M na napag-usapan, bumaba ito sa PHP800K, kung saan PHP200K lang ang bibigyan ng resibo at ang PHP600K ay mapupunta sa bulsa ng BIR officials.
Bahagi pa ng balitang inilabas ng NBI: "The complainant alleged that Subjects offered to fix the company’s tax obligations by further reducing the assessment to Php 800,000.00. They proposed that only Php 200,000.00 would be covered by an official receipt, and the remaining Php 600,000.00 was to be placed in a separate envelope and delivered to the Subjects at their office in Taguig City on September 29, 2025."

Ayon sa broadcaster, matagal na ang akusasyong korapsyon sa BIR pero bakit hindi raw iniimbestigahan ng mga totoong mga dyornalista?
Parang nabigo rin daw ang mga mamamahayag na makita kung bakit ang yayaman ng contractors, officials ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), at mga pulitikong nagpakasasa sa pondo ng gobyerno na may kaugnayan sa flood control projects scandal.

Hindi rin nagpahuli ang netizens sa pagbatikos sa mga maling gawain ng mga tagakolekta ng buwis.
Sabi ng isa: "The corruption in the Philippines is truly terrible. Every agency is corrupt! As a small business owner who faithfully pays taxes, this is unacceptable!!!!
