Actress Chie Filomeno and businessman Matthew Lhuillier continue to spark dating rumors following a recent sighting in Cebu.
The two were spotted at Oakridge Marketplace, and a video of them began circulating on November 27, 2025.
He wore a light blue polo shirt with white shorts, and she wore a tank top and jeans; both sported caps.
The 10-second clip showed Matthew gamely taking photos of Chie with a staff member and a security guard.
NO DIRECT CONFIRMATION
It was in September of this year when rumors linking Chie and Matthew started going around.
Chie's breakup with boyfriend Jake Cuenca only intensified talks that she was seeing the chef and entrepreneur from Cebu.
In an Instagram Story posted on September 29, Chie remarked, "I've been reading and hearing a lot these past few days and I ask that my past relationship, my present life, and the Lhuillier family be left out of this issue. They don't deserve to be dragged into something that has nothing to do with them."
She continued, "No further statements will be made at this time. I kindly ask that people refrain from speculation or intrusions into my private affairs.
"Thank you for your understanding and cooperation."
Chie also said in another post: "I may be a public figure, but I am not public property. I ask that my private life remains private."

In an October interview, Jake, without directly mentioning Chie’s name, confirmed that they had indeed gone their separate ways.
"I'm good at least... it's a lot to take, di ba? It's a little bit... ang daming nangyayari. Ang daming sinasabi ng mga tao," Jake told the press.
"But, siguro I can officially say that that chapter of my life is over now."

Chie and Jake confirmed their relationship in 2023.

RIFT WITH SOFIA ANDRES
Meanwhile, just as whispers of Chie’s rumored romance with Matt were gaining traction, news of her falling-out with fellow actress and friend Sofia Andres suddenly surfaced.
For starters, Sofia is the girlfriend of Matt's cousin, Daniel Lhuillier Miranda.
Chie said that Sofia had blocked her online and posted cryptic messages meant to spread false stories.

“I will not allow anyone to belittle me, especially the people close to my heart. I’ve seen how some hide behind dummy accounts, private profiles, or worse—create new ones just to hurt others. That’s not right. Not right at all. Tigilan niyo na, please,” Chie posted on Instagram on October 10.
Some netizens who saw Chie’s post tagged Sofia, prompting Chie to reply: “Hindi niya makikita kasi blinock niya ako and I didn’t unfollow her."
