Ipinagluluksa ng Philippine movie industry ang pagpanaw ng direktor at aktor na si Ronaldo "Roni" Bertubin ngayong Martes, January 13, 2026.
Siya ay 61.

Inanunsiyo ng Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) sa kanilang official Facebook page ang pagpanaw ni Bertubin.
Nakasaad dito: "The Film Academy of the Philippines mourns the passing of filmmaker and a steadfast leader of the community, Director Roni Bertubin.
"Known for his films Love Birds and Sikil, he was a stalwart of the Directors Guild of the Philippines (DGPI) and will forever be remembered for his calming presence on the set and the joyful light he brought to industry projects.
"Maraming Salamat Direk!"
Hindi binanggit ang dahilan ng pagkamatay ni Bertubin, ngunit ayon sa film producer na si Ferdy Lopez ay sumailalim sa chemotherapy ang director-actor noong nabubuhay pa ito.
Bukod sa pagiging direktor ay isa ring aktor si Bertubin.
Kabilang sa film credits niya bilang aktor ay ang Rollerboys (1995), Crying Ladies (2003), La Visa Loca (2005), Masahista (2005), Bwakaw (2012), at Walwal (2018).

FILM INDUSTRY MOURNS THE PASSING OF RONI BERTUBIN
Kasunod ng balita tungkol sa pagpanaw ni Bertubin ang mensahe ng pakikiramay at pagbibigay-pugay ng ilang kasamahan niya sa industriya.
Mensahe ni FDCP Chairperson Joey Reyes: "Goodbye, Roni. We shall remember you for your kindness, your generosity, your laughter , your comforting presence.
"It's time for you to go home to Our Father and find your place in peace forever. We will miss you as you are and will forever be loved and remembered.
"You will be forever in our hearts."
Ibinahagi naman ng film producer na si Ferdy Lapuz ang isa sa mga huling pag-uusap nila ni Bertubin.
Lahad niya: "Tinawagan ako ni Roni last year at sinabi ang kanyang karamdaman. Bihira kasi kaming magkita pero madalas magka-chat at magkausap.
"Pagkatapos ng ilang buwan, nag message siya at nagki-chemo na. Nakiusap siya na kung pwede kong ipadala ang mensahe niya sa isang kaibigan aktor.
"Pagkapadala ko ng mensahe, ilang minuto lamang at sumagot ang kaibigang aktor at hiningi ang account number ni Roni sa banko.
"Naiyak si Roni sa tuwa at nagpadala siya ng mensahe sa kaibigang aktor..."
