I’ve been very busy since I got back.

BELA PADILLA'S LOVE FOR MOVIES

Saad niya: "I would say, ako, my love for movies was definitely from my mom. We had, like, a whole wall of VHS tapes.

"In fact, my new name pa is Krista Elyse [Krista Elyse Hidalgo Sullivan].

"So my second name Elyse is from Somewhere in Time. Yung character ni Jane Seymour is Elise McKenna."

Ang Somehwere in Time ay ang 1980 romantic fantasy drama film na pinagbidahan nina Jane, Christopher Reeve, at Christoper Plummer.

Pagpapatuloy ni Bela: "So I was named after her because that was my mom's favorite movie.

"And I grew up watching so many Disney films. So, my dad also is a big fan of the movies. My granddad din.

"Noong nag-start ako ng workshop sa ABS, my granddad had a stroke.

"So, pag hapon, after ang workshops, I would go to his house and we would watch TV, Disney films.

"So I had a big variety of, parang different kind of movies, different kinds of films growing up.

"So, yun siguro yung ano, yung best memories for me, especially with my mom.

"Kahit after classes dati, a big treat was... I studied in CSA [Collegio San Agustin-Makati], tatawid kami ng Glorietta to watch a film once a week, at least once a week."

BELA PADILLA: "my mom was a big influence."

I would say... I'd still say my mom was a big influence.

"Her love for books also rubbed off on me. I feel like I wouldn't be a writer today if I didn't like reading first.

"Also, I felt like there was a gap in the industry for what I wanted to watch.

"And maybe because I wasn't being offered the roles I wanted to play, parang sometimes, di ba, invention comes out of necessity.

"So, I started inventing characters that I wanted to play. So, parang doon lang naman nag-umpisa yun, e.

"E, gusto kong mag-play ng certain characters that no one was offering me, so I started writing."

"Meron akong gustong gawin na ganoon, but may hinihintay akong tamang timing po.

"Parang hindi pa siya ngayon. May hinintay akong matapos," sabi ni Bela.
