Kapuso actress Athena "Rere" Madrid and Gilas Pilipinas star Kai Sotto are now officially husband and wife after tying the knot in a garden wedding in Alfonso, Cavite.
On Wednesday evening, May 27, 2026, the celebrity couple surprised fans as wedding snippets were posted on Instagram.

Rere shared a video showing the highlights of their big day, including the exchange of consent, where the bride and groom asked if they freely accept each other as husband and wife.
The bride and groom were dressed in all white, with Rere in a simple strapless wedding gown, while her 7-foot-tall groom wore a long-sleeved polo and white trousers.
“Still feels unreal that we finally get to call this day ours. (Mr & Mrs Sotto),” Rere wrote, opening her message with disbelief and joy over the milestone.

She also expressed gratitude to everyone who became part of their wedding day.
"First, we want to thank God for this wonderful blessing we experienced this year.
"Even though we went through challenges, misunderstandings, and people who tried to break what we had, we still chose to trust each other.
"Because of that, our relationship became even stronger, together with the love and support of our families," she continued.

Rere also expressed deep appreciation for their families, especially their parents and siblings, who played a significant role in their journey.
The younger sister of actor Ruru Madrid said: "We also want to thank our parents and siblings for being such a big part of this beautiful relationship.
"Seeing our families become one is truly one of the best feelings in the world.
"Now, we’ll continue chasing our dreams together, hand in hand."

Rere, 25, and Kai, 24, first made their relationship public when they attended the GMA Gala together in July 2024.
In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Rere admitted that she is very happy with her love life.
She quipped: "I'm very happy, yeah. I'm very happy.
"Siguro kagaya nga ng sinasabi ng lahat ng circle of friends ko, mas naging light yung vibe.
"Parang lagi na lang daw akong tumatawa, naka-smile, yun lang."
