Jessica Villarubin is mourning the loss of her mother, Teofila, who recently passed away.
Adding to the Kapuso singer’s grief is the fact that Saturday, August 15, would have been her mother’s birthday.
On social media, The Clash 2020 grand champion writes a heartfelt message celebrating her mom's life and memories.
"Today is your birthday, Mama, and the longing to see your smile just one more time cuts so deep. It shatters me to look at you like this, but I try to find peace knowing your pain is finally gone."

Jessica goes on to call her mom her greatest blessing, inspiration, and someone with a beautiful soul.
"I will miss you everyday, Mama. Walking forward without you is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, but I promise to keep making you proud.
"Happy birthday in heaven, my beautiful angel. I love you always and forever."
Jessica’s post was accompanied by photos taken during her mother’s wake, as well as cherished photos of her mother from when she was still alive.

POSTPONING A TRIP TO CANADA
Jessica was supposed to travel overseas to perform at Taste of Manila in Toronto, Canada, from August 15 to 16.
On August 12, Sparkle, the talent management arm of GMA Network, released a statement informing the public that Jessica would not be joining the performers "due to a recent death in the family."
The statement read: "We offer prayers and sympathy for Jessica and her family during this difficult time."
