The Achy Breaky Hearts--featuring the love triangle of Jodi Sta. Maria, Ian Veneracion, and Richard Yap--earned P14 million during its June 29 opening day.
This was revealed through Star Cinema's official Instagram account (@starcinema) on Wednesday night.
The Achy Breaky Hearts tells the story of Chinggay (Jodi), a woman in her thirties who has remained single for seven years.
With the pressure of being in a relationship, she finds herself torn between two men: her ex-boyfriend Frank (Richard) who tries to win her back, and Ryan (Ian), a heartbroken man who finds a confidante in Chinggay.

In a previous interview, Jodi said that she doesn't stress about the box-office success of her new movie.
She said, "Kasi kung iisipin ko pa yung magiging outcome, it will only create worry and anxiety on my part, so as much as possible we wanted to be at peace.
"Sa akin talaga parang as long as we've done our part, we did our best, we put our effort and heart into this project, yun yung part namin.
"And I always believed na the success of this film will always come from the Lord. Kumbaga yung project na ito, sinurrender ko na sa Kanya."
