Kim Chiu mistakenly promotes Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin as primetime series

In Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin, Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu's characters were childhood sweethearts who grew up in Zambales. The young Gabriel saved Bianca when she fell off a pier where she almost drowned.

For the past 11 years, Gerald and Kim were paired in primetime shows. Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin marked the first time that they were featured in a daytime series.

Kim Chiu said about working again with Gerald, "It’s seven years ago nang huli kaming magkasama sa TV and then it feels good to have this kind of project with this kind of theme para ipakita sa mga tao. So, excited kami to inspire a lot of people na gawin din ito. It’s not just a love story, parang sports and lifestyle na rin siya.”

Aside from Gerald and Kim, Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin also stars Coleen Garcia and Jake Cuenca. Coleen was cast as Isabel, an executive who is jealous of Kim's character. Jake was cast as Carlos, the executive who chose Kim's character to be the endorser of the energy drink that he is managing.

When asked how she felt upon seeing the reaction of fans to Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin, Kim said with a smile, “Natatawa lang kami sa mga tao. So, ang saya. Sana panoorin nila gabi-gabi kasi marami po talagang aral ito, sa family, sa sarili, sa love, sa kaibigan."

Kim did not notice that she referred to their daytime series as a primetime show.

The Kapamilya actress recently shocked her fans when she shared a controversial quote on her Instagram account.

The quote reads: Shit happens. Every day. To everyone. The difference is in how people deal with it."

Kim wrote in her caption: "TRUST the people you WORK WITH. TRUST the people you WORK FOR. #grateful"

Gerald is glad that fans will finally get to see Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin, “Masayang-masaya. Excited lang ako na makita ito ng maraming tao kasi pinaghirapan ng maraming tao iyan. Mahirap talagang gawin ang show na iyan, so we’re happy. It’s been one year and ngayon ipapalabas na.”

Kim was amazed by the number of Kimerald fans who have remained loyal through the years, “Hindi ako makapaniwala na marami pa rin sila. Sobrang nagpapasalamat lang kami sa suporta nila hanggang ngayon.”

Coleen Garcia's character is in love with Jake Cuenca's character in Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin. However, Jake is smitten by Kim Chiu so he forms a love triangle with Gerald.

Billy Crawford attended the special screening to support his fiancee Coleen.

In Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin, Nicco Manalo was cast as Olsen, the best friend of Gabriel (Gerald Anderson).

Elisse Joson and McCoy De Leon were some of the guests present at the Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin special screening.

Ai-Ai delas Alas happened to pass by Cinema 7 since she also had a mall show that day for her upcoming movie, My Mighty Yaya.

Ai-Ai was accompanied that day by her fiance Gerald Sibayan.

Yogo Singh plays the young Gerald while Francine Diaz plays the young Kim in Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin. Yogo's character taught her how to swim and ride a bicycle, skills that became useful to her when she became a triathlete.

The friendship of Gabriel and Bianca started off on the wromg foot but they eventually became best friends. They become separated because of a tragic incident and get to see each other again after ten years.

Daniel Fernando (left) is cast as the grown up version of Edgar Allan Guzman, Bing Loyzaga plays the grown up version of Carla Humphries, while Michael de Mesa is cast as the grown up version of TJ Trinidad.

The characters of Daniel Fernando and Bing Loyzaga used to be part of the Philippine team for Track and Field. They were close friends with Vicky (played by Bangs Garcia as the younger version and Ayen Munji-Laurel as the grown up version).

Ramon Christopher and Ana Roces are also part of the cast of Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin.
