Filipino pride takes center stage as Liza Soberano, Lea Salonga, Dolly de Leon, Jo Koy, Manny Jacinto, and Filipino-American singer H.E.R. lead the voice cast of Forgotten Island, the upcoming animated feature from DreamWorks Animation.
The highly anticipated project marks another milestone for Filipino representation in Hollywood animation.
Directed by Januel Mercado, Forgotten Island is a comedy-adventure film that follows two best friends transported to a long-forgotten magical island inspired by Philippine mythology.
FORGOTTEN ISLAND'S TRAILER
DreamWorks officially dropped the film’s first trailer on Wednesday, March 26, 2026, giving audiences an early glimpse of its vibrant world, colorful characters, and adventure-driven story.
In the animated film, Liza and H.E.R. voice high school graduates Raissa and Jo, respectively.
As they prepare to take separate paths in life, the two friends accidentally find themselves transported to Nakali, a mysterious island inhabited by creatures from Filipino folklore.

While searching for a way home, they encounter the weredog Raww, voiced by Dave Franco, as well as the island’s most feared being—The Dreaded Manananggal—voiced by award-winning singer-actress Lea Salonga.
Completing the film’s all-star voice cast are Dolly de Leon, Jo Koy, Manny Jacinto, Amielynn Abellera, and American actress-comedienn Jenny Slate, and Ronny Chieng.

Liza could not hide her excitement and gratitude after the release of the trailer for Forgotten Island, as she took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message dedicated to the team behind the project.
“Cheeky little appreciation post for @forgottenislandmovie, I have so much love for the whole team behind this project,” she wrote, as she attached the photos of her with other cast.
The actress added that she feels deeply honored to be part of a film that highlights Filipino stories and talent on a global stage.

H.E.R. shares excitement over Forgotten Island trailer release
Grammy-winning Filipino-American singer H.E.R. expressed her excitement after the official trailer of Forgotten Island finally premiered.
The singer reposted the film’s trailer on her Instagram Stories, sharing an enthusiastic reaction to the much-awaited reveal.
“AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S HERE!!!! SO GRATEFUL!!!!!” she wrote, accompanied by Philippine flag emojis.

Meanwhile, award-winning singer and actress Lea Salonga is practically buzzing with excitement as the trailer for Forgotten Island hits fans’ screens.
