Cyber libel ang kasong isinampa laban kay Lindsay Custodio ng kanyang estranged husband na si Frederick Cale, na naghain ng reklamo sa Prosecutor’s Office ng Mandaue City, Cebu.
Upang sagutin ito, lumipad si Lindsay mula sa Muntinlupa City, Metro Manila, kung saan siya nanininirahan, para sa preliminary investigation na naganap nitong Martes, Marso 4, 2025.

FREDERICK CALE'S COMPLAINT-AFFIDAVIT
Sa complaint-affidavit ni Cale, inilahad nitong idinemanda ng cyber libel si Lindsay dahil sa mga pahayag nito sa eksklusibong panayam ng (Philippine Entertainment Portal) na nailathala noong Mayo 8, 2024.
Bahagi ng nakasaad sa complaint-affidavit ni Frederick: “The respondent Lindsay Custodio committed cyber libel against the complainant when she voluntarily, unlawfully, feloniously, and with the intention to malign my person, character and honor caused to be written, published and posted on May 8, 2024 at the Philippine Entertainment Portal or PEP.ph by respondent Jojo Gabinete on article entitled 'Lindsay Custodio, traumatized bride on wedding day,' containing among others her rants and alleged problems against me, including allegations of denial of support, and withdrawal of her hard-earned money during our wedding day on May 1, 2022.
“Said defamatory imputations which are false and scandalous, were made during her interview conducted by PEP.ph.”
LINDSAY CUSTODIO REACTS TO COMPLAINT AGAINST HER
Matapos ang preliminary investigation sa Mandaue City Prosecutor’s Office, isiniwalat ni Lindsay sa PEP ang saloobin tungkol sa inihaing reklamo ni Cale.
Saad niya: “Nakakalungkot na ganyan po ang ginawa niya.
"I am very disappointed, siyempre, pero okay lang po because what I have is the truth naman, so basta dire-diretso lang.”
Inamin ni Lindsay na ikinagulat niya ang pagsasampa ng reklamo ng kanyang estranged husband sa Mandaue City.
“Nagulat po ako," sambit niya.
"And then, siyempre, mahirap for me kasi I’m from Manila, and then I had to fly to Cebu.
"Pero I was shocked saka disappointed na ganyan ang ginawa niya.
"Alam naman niya in his heart kung ano yung nangyari talaga."

LINDASAY FILES VAWC, PERJURY VS. FREDERICK CALE
Noong Hunyo 2024, sinampahan ni Lindsay si Frederick ng paglabag sa Republic Act 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004) sa Muntinlupa City, pero na-dismiss ito.
Paliwanag ni Lindsay: “It was dismissed, pero dismissed without prejudice to its refiling.
"It was dismissed because the incident happened in Quezon City, kasi I filed po in Muntinlupa, so it’s out of the jurisdiction.
"And also, they’re asking for more supporting evidences."
Noong Nobyembre 2024, naghain naman si Frederick ng reklamong perjury laban kay Lindsay, pero na-dismiss din ito.
Lahad ni Lindsay: “He filed perjury against me because of the VAWC case.
"Immediately it was dismissed and now, here, we have the cyber libel.”
Tumanggi si Lindsay na magbigay ng mensahe para kay Frederick.
Sa araw na ito, inasahan ng PEP na makuha ang panig ni Cale na inakalang dadalo sa preliminary investigation, ngunit ayon kay Atty. Lacambra, ang abogado ni Cale na present sa Mandaue Prosecutor's Office, si Cale ay nasa Canada.
Nananatiling bukas ang PEP sa pahayag ni Cale.
