Nilinaw ng star builder at director na si Johnny Manahan, 74, na hindi nila napag-usapan ni Bea Alonzo, 33, ang paglipat nito sa GMA-7.
Si Johnny, o mas kilala bilang Mr. M, ay founder at dating chairman emeritus ng Star Magic, ang talent management arm ng ABS-CBN. May 35 to 40 years nang Kapamilya si Mr. M.
Si Bea ay dating homegrown star ng ABS-CBN na nasa pangangalaga ng Star Magic sa loob ng halos dalawang dekada.
Ngayon ay pareho na silang nasa bakuran ng GMA-7.
Si Bea ay naging ganap na Kapuso star noong July 1; habang si Mr. M ay ipinakilalang consultant ng GMA Artist Center, ang talent management arm ng network mula nitong July 13.
Ayon kay Mr. M, nagkataon lang na halos sabay silang naging Kapuso ni Bea.
"Katulad ni Bea, nagkataon lang na gusto niya lumipat. Hindi naman kami nag-usap," paglilinaw ni Mr. M.
Nang humarap si Mr. M sa piling entertainment press ay natanong kasi siya kung may mga anak-anakan siya noon sa Star Magic na lilipat din ng Kapuso network.
"Hindi ko masasagot ngayon. Alam naman nila kung anong gusto nila gawin. But we'll never know," simpleng pahayag ni Mr. M.
Dagdag niya, "For the others, sinasabi ko parati, kailangan pag-isipan kung saan talaga ang gusto nila and to find work or people who can appreciate them. Abangan natin."
Naiulat din sa PEP Troika ang pag-amin ni Mr. M na may Kapamilya stars na gustong sumama sa kanya sa GMA-7.
Pero payo raw ni Mr. M sa mga ito, "Sabi ko, 'Diyan na lang muna kayo.' Kasi, okay naman yung lakad nila roon. I was able to get a very nice contract for them doon.
"So, just wait until the contracts are finished and then you can make up your mind kung saan kayo talaga mananatili."
MR. M'S FIRST PROJECT IN GMA ARTIST CENTER
Nakapanayam ng entertainment reporters, kabilang ang PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), si Mr. M noong Hulyo 13.
Dito ibinahagi ni Mr. M kung ano ang unang proyekto niya bilang consultant ng GMA Artist Center.
"I suppose the first project is just getting to know the people in the organization.
"We're just making new friends, seeing how people work, getting to know the roster of the artists in the Artist Center, and see what we can be of help as far as decision-making, image making, marketing, training...
"We can do all those things immediately and concurrently. That's what we're going to do in the first couple of months."
Mahalaga raw na kilalanin muna ni Mr. M ang GMA artists pati na rin ang iba niyang makakatrabaho sa GMA Artist Center.
"Sa ngayon, nakikiramdam pa ako dun sa setup nila. Bago na naman, e.
"Yung dati, kami ang nagtayo ng setup, so madaling i-absorb, madaling ipalakad yung ginawa namin.
"Dito, meron kasing setup na. Pero maganda yung setup. We just have to see if we can improve, if we can get rid of red tapes, if we can make the flow of decision-making easier and faster.
"People naman seem very friendly. Madaling kaibiganin. So, let's see after a few months, I could probably give you more specifics."
FOCUS ON NEW BREED OF GMA STARS
Mas tututukan daw ni Mr. M ang pagdiskubre ng new breed of GMA stars kaysa prime stars ng Kapuso network.
Pero magbibigay pa rin daw ng payo si Mr. M kahit sa established stars.
Paliwanag ng respetadong star builder, "Kasi yung mga established, medyo alam na nila kung ano gagawin nila, alam na nila yung dapat.
"Unless, of course, there's something glaringly wrong somewhere. So, in that respect, siyempre magko-comment ako.
"I want to get to know these people."
Sa loob ng halos tatlong dekada niyang eksperiyensya bilang star builder, passion daw ni Mr. M ang pagdiskubre at pagpapalabas ng kinang ng isang talent.
"Even with the older stars, it's possible to maybe reimage them, slightly lang, because most of them already have a certain image.
"For the younger stars, there's a lot of leeway there to create their persona, which is authentic pa rin.
"Kahit na may glamor sila, they have to somehow spring from their authentic person, something that the audience desire.
"The audience, they like dreams, e. And in some of these artists, they're fulfilled seeing them in their personal lives or in their work."
Excited si Mr. M na makilala ang roster of stars ng GMA at maging kaibigan ang mga ito.
Sabi niya: "I've had a lot of friends when I was with Channel 2, with ABS. And I hope they'll remain my friends.
"But I'm hoping to make new friends in GMA, especially the younger talents, the younger artists.
"I think I can bring something to the table as far as helping them."
