Muling nabuhay ang nananahimik na sanang isyu ng pag-alma ni Sharon Cuneta sa pagkanta ni senatorial aspirant Atty. Salvador Panelo sa mga campaign sortie sa popular song ng Megastar na “Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas.”
Kagabi, March 24, 2022, sa pamamagitan ng social media, inilabas ng 56-year-old singer-actress ang kanyang mahabang paliwanag at paghingi ng paumanhin sa publiko tungkol sa isyu.

Hindi naman pinalampas ni Panelo ang pagkakataon dahil humingi rin ito ng paumanhin nang maglabas siya ngayong Biyernes ng umaga, March 25, ng sagot tungkol sa mga pahayag ni Sharon.
Saad niya, “I don’t want to assume that your apology is for me because I was not named, but no apology for me is necessary. I was not hurt.
"I just felt sad that you felt slighted or offended, and I apologize for that. I had no intention to do that at all.
“Just like Senator Kiko and his party mates, apart from sharing our respective platforms of government to our audiences, we also want to entertain and show our appreciation to them with music.
"It just so happened that 'Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas' holds a special place in my heart, and that’s why I chose it. I have been singing it for a very long time for my special child, Carlo."
Ang "Senator Kiko" na tinutukoy ni Panelo ay ang mister ni Sharon na si Kiko Pangilinan, na tumatakbong vice president ka-tandem ang presidential aspirant na si Vice President Leni Robredo.
Ang "Carlo" namang binanggit ni Panelo ay ang anak niyang may Down syndrome at pumanaw noong January 2017.
Patuloy niya, “I know you would not have reacted that way if you knew that so I understand you, and hold no ill will towards you.
“I am very happy to let you know that because of the buzz that was created, the song has taken a new meaning for many as one depicting the unconditional love of a parent for his/her child, especially those with special needs. More are also now aware of the plight of children with disabilities (CWD) and their families.
