Malaki ang posibilidad na nagkamali ng dinig ang TAPE Inc. staff member na tinutukoy ni former Senator Tito Sotto na nagsabing abogado ng "Belo Gozon law firm" ang lumapit sa kanya at nanghihingi ng mga dokumento.
Utos daw ito ni Romeo Jalosjos Sr., ang chairman ng TAPE, ang TV production company at producer ng Eat Bulaga!.
Sa exclusive interview ng Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph) sa magkapatid na Romeo "Jon" Jalosjos Jr. at Bullet Jalosjos noong June 3, 2023, malinaw ang sinabi nilang legal counsel nila: ang "Tiongco Siao Bello & Associates."
Si Jon ang house representative ng 1st District ng Zamboanga del Norte at President at CEO ng TAPE, samantalang si Bullet ang incumbent mayor ng Dapitan at Chief Financial Officer ng kontrobersiyal na production company.

Nagkaroon ng isyu tungkol sa law firm na hired ng mga Jalosjos at TAPE nang inilabas ng isang online news site na, diumano, ang Belo Gozon Elma Parel Asuncion & Law Offices (BGEPALO) ang abogado ng producer ng Eat Bulaga!.
Isa si GMA Network Inc. Chairman at CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon (FLG) sa mga partner ng BGEPALO. Nasangkot ang pangalan niya sa kontrobersiya dahil sa haka-hakang siya ang nagbigay ng abogado sa mga Jalosjos.
Itinuwid ng anak ni FLG na si GMA Network Senior Vice-President Atty. Annette Gozon- Valdes ang lumabas na balita, na tahasang tinawag niyang "fake news" sa kanyang Facebook post kahapon, June 23.
Pahayag ni Annette: “FAKE NEWS. Ano ba yan Bilyonaryo? Ok lang if you write your journalistic opinions on current issues, I would still respect that as part of freedom of speech. But when you include details that are FACTUALLY UNTRUE, parang may bad faith na yon eh.
“To correct this article Belo Gozon law firm is NOT the law firm of Jalosjos/Tape.GMA has already said our piece on the TAPE/TVJ issue and we stand by it.”
Muling kinontra ng Bilyonaryo ang reaksiyon ni Annette dahil pinagtibay umano ni Tito ang impormasyong natanggap nito mula sa staff member ng TAPE na nakausap ng dating senador.
Ngunit maaaring nagkamali nga ng dinig ang taong tinutukoy ni Tito dahil magkatunog ang mga apelyido na Belo at Bello.
Naninindigan si Annette na walang kinalaman ang law firm na kinabibilangan ng kanyang ama sa isyu sa pagitan ng TAPE at ng veteran hosts ng Eat Bulaga! na sina Tito, Vic Sotto, at Joey de Leon.
Pagtukoy ni Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes sa mole ni Tito Sotto sa loob ng TAPE: "Atty. Ike Belo [of the BGEPAL law firm] passed away in 2004. He is the late father of Dra. Vicki Belo.
“I would like to speak to the TAPE staff that was allegedly approached by a representative of 'Atty Belo' to get to the bottom of these false reports.
"Apparently, hindi magaling mag-investigate itong TAPE staff nila."
Si Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque ng Abraham Pimentel & Acuna Law Office ang bagong legal counsel ng TAPE.
Siya ang hahawak sa Eat Bulaga! trademark dispute sa pagitan ng mga Jalosjos at ng TVJ.
Naniniwala naman si Garduque na hindi staff member ng TAPE ang source ni Sotto.
Pahayag ng legal counsel ng TAPE, "I just find it out of human nature and natural course of things that a staff of TAPE Inc. would investigate. There is no valid motive for a staff of TAPE to do this.
“Besides, kung totoong staff yon ng TAPE Inc., di ba ba dapat alam or kilala niya kung sino ang abogado ng kompanya nila?
“Thus, I fervently believe that the person who fed this FALSE and MISLEADING information to Bilyonaryo.com is NOT a staff of TAPE Inc.
"In the end, in the spirit of true journalism, it is high time that all media/news outlet (online and otherwise) should verify all the information being fed to them first before they publish it.”
