Hindi nagsimula sa coronation night ng 47th Miss Intercontinental ang sobrang pag-idolo at panggagaya ni Miss Vietnam Ngan An Le Au kay Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray.
Si Miss Vietnam ang itinanghal na fourth runner-up sa grand coronation night ng 47th Miss Intercontinental, Sabado, January 26, sa Mall of Asia Arena.
Bago pa napansin ang "impersonation" ni Miss Vietnam sa winning lava walk at magma gown ni Catriona, nag-post na rin ito sa Facebook account nito ng litrato suot ang isang Filipiniana inspired-outfit.
Kahawig din ito ng damit na ginamit ni Catriona sa preliminary interview para sa Miss Universe pageant noong December 2018.
Pati ang estilo ng formal suit at pants ni Catriona ay tila ginaya rin ni Miss Vietnam, kaya hindi puwedeng itanggi na iniidolo nito ang reigning Miss Universe beauty queen.
Hindi ito nakaligtas sa matalas na paningin ng beauty-pageant-crazy Pinoys na tinawag na "copycat" si Miss Vietnam.
Habang may ilang Filipino symphatizers ang umapelang marahil ay "inspiration" lang talaga ni Miss Vietnam si Catriona.
UNFAZED BY BASHERS
Hindi naman nagpatinag si Miss Vietnam sa mga batikos laban sa kanya.
Sa kanyang Facebook post kahapon, January 27, puno ng pasasalamat si Miss Vietnam hindi lang sa mga taong sumuporta sa kanya kundi pati na rin sa kanyang bashers.
"Last but not least, for my bashers, thank you for your negativities to make me become positive-minded person.
"Thank you for your hurtful words to make me stronger and be a reason for me to pursue my advocacy against cyber-bullying on the world stage," saad niya sa huling bahagi ng kanyang post.
Ang mahalaga ay marami raw siyang natutunan at mga hindi malilimutang karanasan sa pageant.
