Libreng tuition ang naghihintay sa mga qualified students na nais makapagtapos ng kanilang Bachelor’s at Associate degrees sa University of the Philippines (UP).
Posible ito sa pamamagitan ng UP Open University (UPOU), ang distance at e-learning education system ng UP, at. ng Republic Act (RA)10932 o Free Tuition Law, na nag-o-offer ng libreng Bachelor’s at Associate degrees programs.
Ito ay fully online, flexible, at accessible kahit saan.
Ang guidelines kung sino ang qualified at kung paano makapag-avail nito ay ipinost sa UPOU website.
WHO IS QUALIFIED TO STUDY?
Tinukoy muna ang guidelines sa kung sino ang mga hindi qualified sa free tuition.
Apat ang binanggit:
- Nakapagtapos na ng Bachelor’s degree o o anumang comparable undergraduate degree mula sa anumang higher education institution, public man o private;
- Nabigong mag-comply sa admission at retention policies ng UP;
- Hindi natapos ang Bachelor’s degree o comparable undergraduate degree sa loob ng isang taon matapos ang prescribed period ng program;
- Boluntaryong umalis sa program;
Dahil ang UPOU ay online at distance learning, kailangan lamang ng device at internet connection.
Hindi mo na kailangang gumastos para sa pamasahe, rental sa dorm, o baon.
Para matapos ang course, mahalaga ang time management skills at self-motivation.

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE PROGRAM
May tatlong paraan kung paano makapag-apply para sa free undergraduate degree ng UPOU.
Una, sa pamamagitan ng UP College Admission Test (UPCAT) para sa mga kursong Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Studies at Bachelor of Education Studies.
Heto ang mga sumusunod na maaaring mag-take ng UPCAT:
- Senior high school students na magtatapos bago ang school year 2026-2027 mula sa DepEd-accredited high school o accredited secondary school abroad;
- Graduate ng DepEd-accredited high school o accredited secondary school abroad;
- May final grades na para sa Grade 8, 9, 10, at Grade 11;
- Hindi pa kumuha ng anumang college subject/s bago ang pagbubukas ng SY 2026-2027;
- Hindi pa nagti-take ng UPCAT dati;
- Hindi pa nag-apply at nakapag-complete ng UP College Application para sa AY 2021-2022 (UPCA 2021), AY (2022-2023 (UPCA 2022), o AY 2023-2024 (UPCA 2023).
Ang application para sa UPCAT ay magbubukas ng March 3, 2026, at magtatapos ng March 31, 2026. Para sa karagdagang detalye maaaring bumisita sa https://upcat.up.edu.ph/.
Ang pangalawang option ay sa pamamagitan ng Undergraduate Admission Test (UgAT) ng UPOU para sa mga sumusunod na degrees:
- Associate in Arts,
- Associate of Arts in Digital Design and Arts;
- Associate of Arts in Digital Entrepreneurship;
- Associate of Science in Instructional Design and Technology; at
- Associate of Science in Information Technology
Bukas ito para sa mga high school at senior high school graduates na hindi pa nag-enroll sa kolehiyo, o sa mga pumasa sa Alternative Learning System Accreditation and Equivalency (ALS A&E) Test for secondary level ng DepEd.
Pangatlo, para sa mga transfer students na naka-enroll sa UPOU undergraduate programs na may sumusunod na qualifications:
- Kasalukuyan o dating student ng UP unit o school/university;
- Graduate ng two-year diploma, certificate, associate, o technical at focation (tech voc) program;
- Huminto sa pag-aaral pero dating college, diploma, certificate, associate, o technical and vocation (tech voc) student.
Kailangan lamang na magawa ang mga sumusunod na requirements:
- Nakumpleto ang transfer admission requirements;
- Kung nanggaling mula sa isang UP unit: nakakuha ng at least 30 units of college at may 2.5 general weighted average (GWA) o mas mataas pa.
- Kung galing sa isang non-UP unit: nakakuha ng at least 33 units of college at may GWA na 2.0 o pataas
- Nakapag-submit ng lahat ng required documentation for admission bago ang application deadline
- Nakumpleto ang UPOU Distance Education (DE) Readiness Module.
